I pretty much get the song but I dont understand the lines "I can't fall asleep to your mystery slowly blowing from the shore" and "It could be warm you see, a statue next to me Swimming away from the ice and snow"....i dont understand them...does the first one mean that its hard for him to sleep, not knowing where she is and what shes doing?? and I dont really have a guess for the statue one....sooo if anyone has an idea please help |

The songs great because it can be applied to many situations and different people relate to it differently...it's a universal song. When I listen to it, the artist is in the middle of a relationship that he truely is happy with and likes. The feelings that won't go away are the feelings for another person, whether those feelings are permanent or just a phase they kinda worry him and make him think. Diamonds are one of the stongest materials in the world, when he says "diamonds they fade" he talks about his strong relationship that he's currently in seems to be dulled/is fading in comparison to these new feelings that he feels. He expresses these new feelings for the anonymous person in the line "Flowers they bloom". The song compares a happy, loving, stable relationship with someone to new feelings he experiences when he's around someone else. He doesn't know why he feels them, i'm not too sure he even wants to feel them, but for whatever reason he does and its making him think.... |
