the general meaning of this song is pretty clear but i always wonder what is meant by the first two lines. 'light globes wash up all along the beach, and they light me up with, and they light me up with certainty'. i think it's just a really abstract way to explain a lonely walk on the beach where you're thinking about stuff. you know in cartoons and stuff a light globe symolises an idea coming to someone? 'light globes wash up all along the beach' must just mean he's thinking while walking and ideas and theories are coming to him, and 'they light me up with certainty' must just mean he's more enlightened now because he's spending time thinking things through. anyway that's just my little ramble, does anyone agree? |

sorry bridgeysheart, but i assure you absolutely no one cares. i thought this was a site to comment on song meanings, not counsel a 14yr old loser. anyway... this song instantly reminded me of the old 'apples and oranges' or 'chalk and cheese' sayings which basically mean two things could not be more different. i thought the two people or two forces in the song were just total opposites and hated eachother. on closer listen, it actually means more than that. the comments above nail exactly what the 'stuck in roles as other antipoles' line means so i won't repeat it, just go read them.. |
