Journey – Change for the Better Lyrics 17 years ago
Well no offense, but the lyrics are completely wrong in many places...on this page.

As for the song it's great...it's about starting over, in this case it's because the persona finds him/her self through someone else, and because of that he/she can start over.

It's a great set of lyrics....I think all the songs on Revelation were great, it didn't feel like any were "filler tracks." Always a great thing.

Lifehouse – The Joke Lyrics 18 years ago
It's prolly a suicide note, that bullying story you said makes plenty sense to me...I have my 2 cents here though:

"You said you were pretending
Heres to one happy ending
Oh, the joke is on you "

Was that possibly this person's last friend that backstabbed them leaving them with no one to rely on, and that'd be why this suicide happened?

That spot is the only questioning part of the song, anyway good interpretationl.

Lifehouse – Whatever It Takes Lyrics 18 years ago
Like most of Lifehouse's work, this has to do with life...it's basically a guy [persona] hoping for a second chance...and he basically blew it....but he wrote this song.

Lifehouse – Disarray Lyrics 18 years ago
It's simple, the persona is looking for something...possibly a relationship but he's not sure exactly what kind or something like that. Needless to say this could be anything, but religion...he's actually searching for whatever allows him to ease his mind.

"Struggling between the facts and fiction
I’m alone
But I'm alive
Everyone around me is trying to make a statement
Then there’s me
I’m just trying to survive "

That line right there tells me it has nothing to do with religion and the wrestling with angels simply means to me that he's realized religion has caused more problems for him than it ever helped. I myself have experienced that feeling before and losing my religion was prolly the best thing I could have done, had to do that before I could find my own meaning.

Nirvana – Lake of Fire Lyrics 18 years ago
The original writers obviously were definitely against your average person which is always nice.

This doesn't mean they believed anything, it just means if those whackjobs are right this would be the destination.

It's a well written song...anyway this is a cover of the original that was performed at a concert that was titled "Unplugged in New York" and Nirvana played some of their own stuff and they invited various bands/artists to attend and Nirvana covered some of their work. [ie: showing respect]

Lifehouse – Take Me Away Lyrics 18 years ago
So predictable, a bunch of worshipping schmos commenting the same thing, can't you admit this band isn't meant for getting on your knees and worshipping? This song doesn't even come close to mentioning anything about "God" if they did it'd be said in the song. That was done on purpose to prevent it from being overly used by morons, err evangelists.

Anyway the song is about someone for this reason:

"
I've seen it all,
And it's never enough.
It keeps leaving me needing you."

That would be saying that "God" as you call him isn't enough if you keep needing him, if he's all powerful as you all state then that would be enough to suffice.

Therefore that connection makes absolutely no sense to this song. Anyway if that's not enough, consider this line:

"Don't give up on me yet,
Don't forget who I am.
I know I'm not there yet,
But don't let
Me stay here alone."

Since when does "God" give up on people? You guys have seriously lost it and all I see you nuts do is...

"OMG ITS ABOUT GOD *SMILE/TEAR/ETC*"

That's seriously about the most annoying comment I can ever read! Screw faith, and use your brains for a change.

Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree with The Firm in terms of the crappy posts on here...

As for this being their #1 song? Idk...I don't think it's necessarily their best, but it's damn near it if it isn't. I personally like Come as you are and Rape me, but even that's not as good as this one. Yeah, when you mention it this may be their best, though their most random was definitely "Son of a Gun." lol

Lifehouse – Storm Lyrics 18 years ago
First off Ponch is a freaking dumbass and deserves to rot in "hell" as his crapy overzealous beliefs go. As for the rest of you religious people, yall are alright...but that guy's a nutcase lol.

As for the song it can't be about God I mean unless you are gonna be into a mortal relationship with an spiritual figure or whatever you call him.

The line:
"and i will get lost into your eyes"
is one half of a bad pickup line that'd have to do with the ladies.

Anyway the storm is about loneliness basically and your persona is trying to survive this battle by finding someone.

"if i could just see you
everything would be alright
if i could see you
this stormness would turn into light"

That is about finding someone basically, not just seeing someone. There are some allusions to religion but that's it. The bible is a book and according to definition an allusion would be a reference to religion/mythology. It's just a reference, not a worship song....none of their stuff is for "worship" as you call it...instead they refer to it, that is all.

This makes me think more like...

Up, up, up and down
Turn, turn, turn around
Give me more drugs so I can write more crazy stuff

Heh...it's almost random, but it was most definitely a good one. This song kind of simplifies life in a simpler way than even lifehouse could have done.

Lifehouse – Spin Lyrics 18 years ago
No this has absolutely nothing to do with God....because this song is about risks in a relationship, with "God" as you guys call it...there's no risk in being involved with this religion.

There's not a chance that "God" as you call him will backstab you or go his own way...if you insist there's risks in that matter I'm just going to laugh.

This band has nothing to do with religion, esspecially not this song, you don't lose everything when you are part of a lousy religion. The only thing you lose is your soul's free will and time.

Lifehouse – First Time Lyrics 18 years ago
It's definitely about a much better than your typical relationship. I don't think this would be about falling in love the first time since it's like it....

This would be later on when something hits you or something, maybe it's when you are trying to remember exactly why and then you realize everything the you and that person went through. And although it feels confusing sometimes, it still feels like home.

This has nothing to do with religion even the slightest way contrary to what some joe schmo might say in a future comment. lol

None the less it's an amazingly written song.

Lifehouse – Hanging By A Moment Lyrics 18 years ago
It's simple...if this song has anything to do with "faith" as sabi said...it'd be faith in your "partner" which would make perfect sense.

This song is either mid relationship or possibly some few thoughts before...

For those who think it's about "God" here's my 2 cents.

Seriously...if you keep falling more and more in love with God why dont you %#$% him already?

Third Eye Blind – An Ode to Maybe Lyrics 18 years ago
It's simple...it relates much like myself.

The idea of the song is that the guy is delaying things in his life and basically saying "maybe" or "oh I might."

It's where one talks the talk but fails to walk the walk. Something I tend to wind up doing but nonetheless it fits. Basically it's a back and forth arguement between the lead vocalist and anyone who's backing up. They are playing the one person vs a few people in this motivational arguement.

The Wallflowers – Everybody Out Of The Water Lyrics 19 years ago
"Man there ain’t nobody coming
Back away from the gates
That bell
That you hear
That’s hell
Ringing in your ears
I fear
That my dear
This ain’t a warning…"

That part means its prolly one of the worst storms possible....but what the storm could be is multiple things: could be a vast metaphor or very literal, I'm not too sure. However it basically states that in times of great chaos....love isnt going to matter, its not powerful enough to save oneself, its that simple. The gate reference meant no ones coming back, but that makes sense if they all die....so I'm not too sure.

This song could be anything to tell you the truth lol

The Wallflowers – See You When I Get There Lyrics 19 years ago
hmmm the meaning though of the song....no one decided to say it and just put random comments so here I go:

It sounds to me like there's been a screw up in a relationship but this one hurt so much that he's not bothering to care again about future ones. He's simply waiting on her to turn around pretty much...

However, near the end though the lines "I saw a white flash
And then I saw the lids of my eyes" it seems like either one of two things happened at that point:
Either
A) so much time passed the persona simply died or
B) the persona took his life

I can't really figure out which one it is though, maybe someone else's opinion would help. = )

Our Lady Peace – Whatever Lyrics 19 years ago
Ok this is supposed to be about the song and like ive heard the whole "someone who's very determined" i have to agree on that idea. as for wrestling ppl...its all acted out...they get paid to put on a stunt show...but seriously the ppl that "win" now a days are all weenies i mean that should be the first sign that its fake lol

the older stuff was more believable than today's garbage

as for the song...Decent well made song i have to admit once again another good job by OLP
