i feel like this song has a lot of references to "catcher in the rye" first of all, "my head's a carousel of pictures..." in the book he takes his little sister to a carousel in a park. "Yeah, I know I should be brave But I'm just too afraid of all this change" Holden is deathly afraid of change. he's only comfortable in places he knows will never change. "Guess I'll just keep moving Someday maybe I'll get to where I'm going" Holden always seems to be wandering around. what do you guys thinkkk?! |

"try to name one thing you like, you used to have such a longer list" I'm thinking this part is a Reference to Catcher in the Rye. cause in the book Holden's sister Phoebe was trying to get Holden to name one thing he liked. ...and he couldn't. ammmmazing song. |

"Oh, my tongue's the only muscle on my body that works harder than my heart And it's all from watching TV and from speeding up my breathing" So i'm pretty sure this whole song is about TBS and mocking them. the part i put in quotes is saying that all Taking Back Sunday's lyrics either are about sex or things they see on TV or movies, like the monologue from Beautiful Girls in "greatest romances of the 20th century" Don't get me wrong, i love TBS... they're amazing. |

i bought this CD, and loved the other songs, but never really gave this one a chance until about a month ago. this song always started off so...not boring...but not pulling you in to listen to it. and now that i've listened to it, it's become one of my favorite dashboard songs. it's SUCH a good song. really. |
