I don't understand why my post was done as a reply to someone else's? I didn't mean for that to happen, I just don't understand how this site works. Whatever. |

... to be completely honest when I first heard this song on the radio I thought it was about a woman (the narrator) in love with a hard core dyke (the subject). I guess it was because of the lines "She's the beat of my heart, she's the shot of a gun. She'll be the enemy of everyone." (That last one is what I thought it was.) I didn't have anything against that because I'm part of the whole LGBTQ rainbow and I was like "Rock on, sister, rock on!" Now I read the real lyrics ... oh misconceptions. Ah, mary... I'm just going to agree with the previous posts. It is a pretty obvious it's about America. "She's the beat of my heart," not necessarily a love thing, just... we live here and obtain our livin' from here. From work to food to...etc... (even though everything is made in china.) |

This song flared my gaydar. Not sure why, might have been the thing about the tie. But as soon as I looked up the lyrics on the 'net I was instantly reminded of a hilarious movie I watched about a year ago. Get Real Both the song and the movie (tho' unrelated) are brilliantly done. And they're both about gay love. (Yay!^o^) "You should have asked me for it I would have been brave" Reminds me of my first major crush on someone, I don't know what happened to him, I've lost track over the years. But if he had asked me I would have been brave for him, even though I wasn't out of the closet way back when. |

| Oh, and I want to add that by being a "sinner"... he just means that he's gay. Yeah. Because when you're gay, religious people are always telling you that you're a sinner and you're going to hell. Happens to me a lot. | |

I dunno, according to my boyfriend this is a gay love song he's singing to some guy. "You're the cutest thing I ever did see Really love your peaches want to shake your tree" ^He saw some cute guy and he wants to jerk the guy off. "Peaches" refers to balls (you really don't need to think about this part...) And by shaking the tree, well, the tree part is the guy's cock, and shaking just means he wants to jerk the guy off. Yeah. Not that there's anything wrong with being gay. I'm gay. My boyfriend's bi. Lotsa my friends are either gay/bi. It's all good. |

I fucking LOVE this song. babble babble bitch bitch rebel rebel party party It kinda reminds me of Dope Hat where he calls all his fans children. Mari's always been critical of everybody and that's why I like his songs so much, it's like a big "Fuck You" to the main stream. This song is about how alot of people are just copys of each other. They think they're rebels and that they're different and they think that makes them cool. But they're all just the same. There's no originality. Or summat. It's too early in the morning here. |

| Dir En Grey – The Final Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This song scared the screaming fuck out of me. This is actually the first Dir En Grey song I ever heard and so I was like watching the music video for it on Fuse and I'm like "Holy shit I have no idea what they're saying! It's like they're singing in another languange!" So I was creeped out by the lead singer and the fact that they were singing and I couldn't understand them. But now I've read the translation I can honestly say that this is one of the most beautiful suicide songs I've ever heard. It's about being tired with life and just wanting to end it. I feel that way a lot but I'm too lazy to actually do anything about it. |

I absolutely loved the music video for this song. I'm going to go out and buy 8 treadmills just so I can do that. Oh and the song is awesome too. It's about how everytime life is all hunky dory and perfect something comes along and fucks it all up to hell. And it just keeps happening. It kinda reminds me of how people have houses in Florida. The house is all perfect then a hurricane comes along and beats the crap out of the house. Then the owner of the house rebuilds it. Then the hurricane tears it apart. Then it's rebuilt. Then it's ripped again. Then it's rebuilt. Then it's down again. It just goes on like this FOREVER. "If history repeats itself, and the unexpected always happens, how incapable must man be of learning from experience." — George Bernard Shaw |

| AFI – Miss Murder (Director's Cut) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

New to this stuff... dunno how to edit. But anyway "We're the empty set just floating through, wrapped in skin" Should be -> When the empty sand flows through empty skin. Or summat. Anyway, I lurve the song and putting Prelude/MissMurder together was a great idea. The "Ever searching for what we were promised" is prolly a reference to what he promises in the beggining of the song. "Dreams of his crash won’t pass" Daveh just wants to seem 'him' destroy himself and he can't stop imagining it. "Or how they all adored him" And Daveh can't get past how much everyone seems to love 'him' despite the fact that 'he' isn't so great. And that's why he wants to see him fail. Whoever 'he' is. Someone else in the other miss murder version posted something like it's a love triangle and Daveh's in love with a girl who loves this guy and daveh wants that guys blood. Fits. And stuff like that... |
