Firstly, I'm uncertain as to the lyric, "You were in the danger zone / I saw it in the telephone". It was transcribed by ear from a really old cassette recording, and this was the best I was able to get out of it. If anyone has the liner notes, corrections would be appreciated. Moving on: I'm not entirely certain as to the lyrics' meaning. I get the impression it's about prostitution ("Set in the dark of night / In the shadow of a streetlight / Uncover your role tonight /Anonymous"), but given the singer's background find this to be something of a stretch. Either way, it's a rather atmospheric song given how most early-'80s synthpop tends to come across, and both the lyrics and vocals add to its atmosphere - secretive yet slightly wistful. |

The lyrics are suggestive of a relationship gone bad, with both parties going their separate ways - but it's still impossible to forget the time spent together. Lines such as, "Things change, but one thing stays in my mind / I'm still thinking of you" in particular seems to bear this out, as well as "Though I regret everything we had / Yet I know this will haunt me until I die / I'm still thinking of you". If you're into Depeche Mode and the sound they had in the mid- to late-'80s, you'll probably like this song. It's a lot more poppish than the lyrics suggest, but you can still hear the bitterness and sense of betrayal coming through. |

| Therapy? – Stop It You're Killing Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's about the situation in Northern Ireland. On the one side hand you've got the British government trying to assure everyone that things will be just fine and everyone will be perfectly happy - while they do nothing to stop the violence between the loyalist and republican terrorist factions. And, of course, everyone else is caught in the middle - hence "domestic refugees" who "sink in the same boat as me". Basically, everyone's screwed. | |
