| Black Lips – Spidey's Curse Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I think that they are regretting that Spiderman is so tortured right now in the comics -well in fact i think it is like that from the very beginning-. They blame the elder "But when he was younger, an elder among him messed him in the head", probably uncle Ben, for making Peter Parker so responsible that cannot be happy. They claim liberty for Peter Parker, so he can be happy and use his body as he wants, not to be forced to use it to save the world because, as Ben said, "a great power means great responsability". They want Parker not to feel guilty, because uncle Ben is gone. |

| La Roux – I'm Not Your Toy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think it is about how a girl feels that the love she is receiving is not true, that is acting by a boyfriend who needs to love, to give hugs, just to feel better, not because he loves her. So that kind of love is not real, she feels that all the affection hides something, that it is not because of her: Your love hides in a smoky night, I can never find the truth Boy, your touches leave me mystified I wish I could believe in you. She is in love, mystified, but she doesn't think the boy really loves her. |

| KMFDM – Anarchy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
For me this part was trying to speak about humans being their own god (and killing religion, remorses, shame; erasing usual ethics and making your own one): "Feel no remorse No sense of shame Time's gonna wash away all pain I made a god out of blood Not superiority I killed the king of deceit Wake me up in anarchy Sacrifice to the cause Turn your code into law Compensate to validate the loss Take a thief Nail him to a cross " But it doesn't fit the rest of the song :( Anyway, i'm going to see them in Madrid, got my ticket! |

| Marilyn Manson – The Nobodies Lyrics | 18 years ago |

In Nebraska (more or less): "I feel like a shit, but i'm going to be famous" Manson: "Today I am dirty I want to be pretty" Robert Hawkins, in Nebraska, wanted to be famous. Manson: "We are the nobodies we wanna be somebodies when we're dead, they'll know just who we are" |

| The Cure – Pictures of You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
For me this song is about Robert being alone and seeing photos of an old love and remembering all that happened. Perhaps he is a bastard in a real relationship, but when he sees that photos he feels them with intensity and he is melancholic. In the relationship, Robert was a bastard, he is sad because he wasn't able to say that girl how much he loved her. Now, he is angry and breaks all the photos because they remind him all that rubbish you know. For me that is the meaning, or at least is more close to me that interpretation. Also, I think that the photos represent the ideal of a love relationship, all that you think love should be (when you are not involved, just looking, you are always a good guy and thinks about a REAL bright love), whereas in real life flies always lay their eggs. |

| Marilyn Manson – Long Hard Road Out Of Hell Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This song reminds me of Lunchbox a lot. Manson was dying to be an adult and making his own decisions. "Live like a teenage christ Im a saint, got a date with suicide" Like Nietzsche, Manson thinks that religion promotes death, Jesus sort of suicide himself. He's ironic saying that he is a saint because of his desire to be dead when he was a teenager. "I wanna live, I wanna love But its a long hard road, out of hell " When you are a teenager, not very popular, life is hard, you want to grow up, to escape from school and reinvent yourself in another place far from that hell. "Spin my way out of hell, theres nothing left this soul to sell" To get that, he lost his soul?Rare, I don´t think so. I don't understand that. "Sell my soul for anything, anything but you" Is he refering to religion?Perhaps... |

| Marilyn Manson – I Don't Like the Drugs (But the Drugs Like Me) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree with Akasha. And also I think here in this song Manson refers to "lower tiers of society", who instead of using drugs like heroin or something like that are addicted to TV and specially talshows (see the video). Manson perhaps chooses to smoke marihuana just to have the experience because he can manage not to become an addicted, he like the drugs. On the contrary, many people reject drugs, but spend 5 hours watching TV. They haven't chosen that drug, the TV has chosen them because they don't have the nuts to make their own choices, and just stand in front of the TV wasting time. It's my opinion. | |
| Marilyn Manson – The Fight Song Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"They'll just cut our wrists like cheap coupons and say that death was on sale today ... the death of one is a tragedy but death of a million is just a statistic" I think this song is partially about how we are horrified about the death of an individual, and we condemn it fiercely, whereas, for example, in the 2nd world war the Government of USA killed a lot of people by selling coupons. You know, they finance the war by selling coupons, like in "Flags of our fathers", population buy it and helped the army to kill people. That wasn´t horrible, but one person who kills (it is bad of course) is considered a monster. I don't know, there are many ideas, like: "Isolation is the oxygen mask you make your children breath into survive" Nobody trusts each other. Isolation is the solution. You don't get hurt by keeping away from people. Lock your doors. This is shown in "Bowling for Columbine". And the rest of the song is about being yourself, some lyrics which remind me of Nietzsche. "But I'm not a slave to a god that doesn't exist But I'm not a slave to world that doesn't give a shit" |

| Pixies – Hey Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think the song is about a relation between Mary and Jose (parents of Jesus in Christianity). He can't fuck with her because she has to be the mother of Christ, so God is the only that can "intimate" (or whatever the way He create Jesus). So Jose (I don't know how he is called in english) has to fuck with whores-prostitutes. But he is chained with her wife, Mary, although they can't have sex. But they have a common fate: take care of the son of God and rear him, the one who is going to redeem the whole humanity. They also love each other, but they have a espiritual mission that avoid a simple relationship between two lovers. | |
| Depeche Mode – A Question Of Time Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I don't really think this song talks about "to keep a teenage girl off the wrong path". Instead, I think that the narrator is attracted to lolitas, and, in the same way as in Nabokov's book, he don´t want that girl to become a "mature" person and lose all that "magic" a girl of 15 years has (her surronding, both friends and family, have not influenced her yet: "make you just like the rest"). | |
