I think that this song means something different to everyone. My view of this song is that it is about being excluded from a group of friends or people and not having any anyone. Just sitting alone and thinking about the past and stupid things you've done that made you disliked by a group of people. Then you get lost in your thoughts in the past and in your anger and that's when you "loose yourself". |

I've always had this crazy idea that Kid A was a strange world that radiohead created through their music. It's odd how a lot of people thought of divorce when they heard this song. It had never crossed my mind, instead i had this other theory that it was about two people (a man and a women) who were running away from these stalker type things and ended up in a house that wasn't theirs. The drum beat at the begining is when they've been found by the people they were hiding from. It's as if they are banging on the door and trying to break in. Once they do come in they find the poeple that they are after trying to light a candle and burn the place down, but they stop them and try to tie them up. One of the people says that they can keep the furniture if they'll let them go. This doesn't work so the man stalls while the women gets out of the house, but she doesn't know where the car is so she yells out 'Where'd you park the car?' and the man throws her the keys and tells her that her clothes are on the lawn, and not to wait for him just run and look for the car. The killers then scream cut the kids in half, ( the man and the women are the kids in this case because they are still very young). meanwhile the women escapes and runs to look for the car leaving the man behind who then starts begging them not to make them their slaves and to be friends. In the end the man kills them and finds the women and they kill themsleves( motion picture soundtrack) because everybody is after them. I know it's a dreary way to look at it. |
