for those who have seen rushmore, i think this song is based on the movie. the chick max is in love with smokes 'Light that smoke for giving up on me '
and he is alot younger then her hence the kid you used to see part. and im sure there are other references im missing. basically she breaks his heart by leaving him kinda for another dude who is alot older.
