Something For Kate – Reverse Soundtrack Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this song is about having all of these problems out of your control, yet when you try and escape them or try and make them seem not as big things just magnify. You can try and stand back and analyse it ("separate yourself from how things are") or distract yourself ("counting the stars") or even somehow escape the problem for a while ("shuffle into the eye of the storm"), but it still all falls down.

Placebo – Special Needs Lyrics 19 years ago
A relationship doesn't have to be sexual or along those lines. A friendship is a relationship. I didn't specify the type of relationship above. You're interepretation is valid, but respect other's opinions.

Placebo – Special Needs Lyrics 19 years ago
The ending of a relationship, because one person has moved on to bigger and better things. Fame, and everything that comes with it, could be interpreted as a metaphor for a better life altogether.

Brian echoes over and over "Remember me". Remember what I did for you. Remember how I've helped you. Remember me when you succeed in your new and better life.

The chair with four wheels may not be a physical disability. In comparison to the new life the other person is having, Brian feels disabled and stuck. Possibly powerless and helpless.

Placebo – Song To Say Goodbye Lyrics 19 years ago
I'm with rachmac above. Brian seems to be singing about his own problems with drugs using a different persona. he's been blessed with lucky sevens: an unbelievable voice and music career.

And just a thought, possibly in that period of his life, he truly thought he was going to die. Looking back on that time with his persona, could he have written one last song? His song to say godbye?

Worth pondering.

Radiohead – True Love Waits Lyrics 19 years ago
If i can take one thing out of this song, from my interpretation, its when Thom pierces me with his heartfelt proclaimation as the guitar quietens and he declares:

"And true love waits/In haunted attics.
And true love lives/On lollipops and crisps."

While these two lines mean the most to me, with the preceding lyrics this song is about commitment, loss and then finally hope.

It's also easy to see why this song is so well-loved by so many. Everyone wants to believe true love waits: until college finishes, until their love returns from overseas, until the other person realises they love them as well, and until after death.

Something For Kate – Song for a Sleepwalker Lyrics 19 years ago
The existing and not living point is definitely there, and I think Paul really emphasizes his last point, which is that when the time comes you'll realise what you've become and where you are: nowhere.

Something For Kate – Pinstripe (acoustic) Lyrics 19 years ago
To me, this song is about having all these restrictions on your life, either self imposed or otherwise, and all these things out of our reach and control (such as "already she likes concrete better than grass" - on a global scale a possible reference to urban sprawl but also on a personal scale someone close changing).

Yet, there is this human ability to look at these things and either be pessimistic or optimistic, so when you stare at the sky it can either hurt your eyes, or you can see sunshine. I think this point is really enforced by being at the song's climaxes.

Easily my favourite song. Ever.
