I know I'm late on this one, but I've been a fan of About A Boy since I first saw it back in 2002. Yes, it's about Fiona telling her son that she loves him and her pain has nothing to do with him. For me, I think it's the other way around. I think it's about having a heavy heart because someone you love is in pain, and it hurts you to see that. So you want them to know that no matter what you still love them. |

Yeah The Postal Service is pretty annoying. Have you listened to the lyrics of Clark Gable?! I saw Death Cab for Cutie in concert in San Diego. It was in a pretty ritzy area, near boats and Coronado and Ben was like being a huge pretentious retard about it. Plus, Hot Chip is clearly better. Listen to The Beach Party. It's an awesome song. |

I think it's about a person leaving for a little while, he/she is wondering if the other person will remember the times they shared. Now that person is in a new place(s) and wishes he/she was braver. They miss home. I never overanalyze songs. I figured since no one else has commented. I should. I LOVE this song! |

Not everyone who suffered through Katrina was black. It's a little irresponsible for him to say that. I'm definitely not a republican, but I'm not a democrat either. Independent? Though, George Bush could have done something faster and put more effort into it. My best friend lives down there and part of this song is true, about not getting help and people resorting to crime. Anyway my friend was telling me that people were stealing ice and throwing sort of a riot. I've experienced some of that living in Asia with all the typhoons passing through, but not to that scale. So I partially side with Kanye or who ever wrote this. When he stated that George Bush doesn't care about black people on TV. He should backed it up. It wouldn't have been SO controversial, or maybe it would have, but at least he would be shined in a positive light. |

drewsuf_69, I agree with everything you said. Except, where you said athiests hate christians. I'm an atheist. I don't hate christians. If you're an atheist, you choose not to believe in a higher power. God, Buddha, Allah, etc. It's not about hate, it's just choosing not to believe in it. I really don't like that label that atheists are hateful people. I try and live life, I make mistakes, I learn. I experience different and new things. That's what I believe we're here for. The preachings of Jesus were very positive. It's a good way to live life. Treat others as you would like to be treated. You can still live like that and not believe in a higher power. |
