It's about CPR!! Someone rebelled in swim class, swam out too far, almost drowned and needs CPR!! I'm most obviously joking. Yeah, these guys are Christian, no doubt. It's about God, but it's vague with it's lyrical presentation. Still it's sounds cool even if it's a Jesus band song. It doesn't have to be applied to God even if that's the band's intended implication. I believe that the capability for alternate interpretations were intended by the writer for non-Jesus fans. Don't think he was anywhere near CPR(even though it syncs up nicely in a literal interpretation). |

This I think is when Jimmy rides out on his boat in depression without a hero only to realize that he can't run. He has to grow up and accept his personalities and live on. Thats when Love, Reign O'er me begins. I always thought at the end he found god or something. The Rock could be a summary of all events leading up to the end as well. All the events racing through his head as he rides out lonely and depressed until he finally reaches his breaking point only to find that his childhood is over and that the rain is showering him. He sees the rain as a sign of love, from god or whoever. This could also be about the storm raging around Jimmy as his boat drifts off. |

Although it can relate to religion, it for me mainly relates to delusions, sourceless theories, and skewed facts. People use these to make them feel like they're in a better position. Whats worse is when people are closed minded about these things, they'll bleed for these thoughts, they'll die just to not be proven wrong. Or it can be attacking the idea of perfection. You should get what I mean. Like perfect face, body, society, person, machine, etc. |

Powerful song goes with a powerful story SPOILER Calling him Jesus gives him signifigance the main character the most agnst. He feels okay bout who he is and wonders why no-one else does and hes marked off as someone with no promise. He no religious guy(me neither). He's got ADD, passion, soul, drive, attitude but he dreams to much about changing the world he lives in and falls into the "same street punk pattern like plenty of others", develops an alter ego from the pressures of the world he snaps, he meets a rebel girl and falls in love with her but doesn't try hard enough to keep the relationship and she leaves him. With no drive he kills his outgoing, angsty, nutty alter ego and after all of the stuff he does, he still ends up killing his outgoing, agnsty, ambitions alter ego/mentor. He becomes more apathetic, laid back and settles back into society and realizes/thinks it was all just an episode that he regrets leaving and longs for more.
