First off I love the ataris, but Rivers original WEEZER version on their sophomore CD Pinkerton is much better. The song is very hard to decipher, but since the entire CD pinkerton has a theme of Madam Butterfly we can relate it to Pinkerton looking back on the events of his life. Who knows where that one person got the 'raped' thing but its super wrong. |

This song is about Kris finding out he had an older brother that was put up for adoption before he was born. The song "Secret Handshakes" from their upcoming album "Welcome the Night" is the second half of this song. |

Everyone is wrong. Kris himself said this song is about taking a trip back to Anderson Indiana where he grew up. He took several photographs of his hometown and places he used to hang out and where he grew up. From years of maturity, he was finally able to place all of these photos of his youth around a wall. just like the music video, he then looked at them for inspiration and penned "In This Diary" a tribute to his and everyones childhood. |
