The Format – For You Lyrics 16 years ago
I had no idea this was a cover, I'm so glad that I looked at this page. I'll definitely have to check out the Bruce Springsteen version.

Anyways,
the first couple times I heard this song I loved the second more upbeat half.
But after a few listens, I started loving the melodic beginning...now, I just love it all.
It's strange how well Springsteen's lyrics fit with the Format's style.

The Rocket Summer – Never Knew Lyrics 16 years ago
This some reminds me of how it fells coming home from college or wherever you've gone off to and seeing all the people you went to high school with.
The more you learn about yourself, the clearer it is to you that there's a lot more to people than you might have thought.
People grow and see eachother differently.

I really love how desperately his voice gets towards the end of the song, as if he really wants to drive the point home.

The Matches – Audio Blood Lyrics 16 years ago
Haha, I was totally gonna write about how everyone kneels down and jumps up and it's amazing, but then i noticed that someone else had already written it. When i looked at the name i noticed i went with softball14luver. Pretty much the best concert/live song

The High Court – 2 Much Love for 1 Woman Lyrics 17 years ago
If you have any questions about the meanings of any of The High Court songs, the lyric links from their purevolume.com page has the writer's exact thoughts. Just thought I'd put that out there.

The Higher – Can Anyone Really Love Young Lyrics 17 years ago
Kind of has a boy band sound to it...but I like his vocals and the lyrics.

The Matches – You (Don't) Know Me Lyrics 17 years ago
lol, same thing as vickyzee. My friends and I spent half the drive down to see The Matches trying to imitate the noises, in this song and others.

Joe Nichols – Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off Lyrics 18 years ago
This song definitely has a hidden sincere and deep meaningful meaning behind the frivolous lyrics and fun beat. She constantly bares her soul to the world and ends up hurt and metaphorically naked. The man who loves her only wants her to put and extra layer of emotional and mental protection on her heart, mind, and soul....HAHA!!! JUST PLAYING! This song is wondrously meaningless! I love tequila!

The Spill Canvas – Lust A Prima Vista Lyrics 18 years ago
All the comments that say this is about a relationship are on crack, they both just use eachother when it's convenient, not a bad situation all together. And the claps almost sound like the cocking of a shotgun or something, I love it. Oh, and

"I'm on my knees,
but so are you
Unfortunately for the wrong reasons"

Does that sounds like doggie-style to anyone else..? haha

Bright Eyes – Loose Leaves Lyrics 18 years ago
So that is fine, yeah, come by
We'll take the afternoon off
We can kiss and undress
Or if you want just talk
Because I have got nothing real
Just empty space to fill
And you are my girl, I like your style
Just imagine all the time we could kill

Haha, high school relationships

Bright Eyes – Untitled Lyrics 18 years ago
Is it just me or in some parts of this song does his voice start sounding like on of the characters from that old cartoon, "Animaniacs"? I dunno, I love it tho. "Absence leads to adoration, no it's nobody's fault" It's so predictably true for everything

Bright Eyes – Drunk Kid Catholic Lyrics 18 years ago
hahaha, I'm sorry..anyone who's attending a Catholic School or has attended one and is now at a public school knows that the meaning of this song is irrelevant. Just the line "The drunk kids, the Catholics, they're all about the same" holds so much truth...all you learn in Catholic education is how to evade the oppresive rules and cut corners on the workload and cheat on tests. So, once you're out of that environment and in a much more loosely governed environment, breaking rules and cheating and cutting corners is ten times easier for you then the kids who grew up in the public system. So, you basically end up doing more "bad" things as anyone else, but you're smarter about hiding it. Catholics are the craziest and best partiers, hahaha

Bright Eyes – Lover I Don't Have to Love Lyrics 18 years ago
This song's great because it doesn't attach too much meaning or importance to sex. Sometimes people just need a girl who's to sad to give a fuck or a boy who's so drunk he doesn't talk. And when those too ppl find eachother, it's a lucky day.
The lack of meaning in their "encounter" makes it easy for him to memorize and deal with, with it just being the physical. They just need to lose themselves, and that's okay

Brand New – Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song's about the way gender roles are changing. Instead of a boy pushing a girl too quickly into sex, it's about a girl who wants sex and goes out to get it, not caring about feelings.

He whispers that he loves her but shes probably only looking for...
So much more than he could ever give, a life free of lies and a meaingful relationship.

This line I think isn't saying that she's just having sex because no one can provide her with a real meaningful relationship. I think she wants a purely sexual relationship because it's the only kind that is free of lies.
I dunno, sometimes I think I twist the song to mean what I want it too, lol

Clear Static – Make Up Sex Lyrics 18 years ago
I partially agree with Lozerchild. I think the rest of those comments are cracked tho. It's not about a relationship or some guy who loves a girl and she's moving to fast and "OMFG, this song is so great!!!" isn't a very intelligent addition either. Anyways, I think this song is about two ppl having makeup sex all their respective gender. The makeup sex is "for all the girls in the back while they're messing up their hair and the boys breaking hearts, pretending that they care"

"So break me down until I fall but stop before you break it all
I never thought you'd cry, I thought that you would make it "

She's breaking him and he's making her cry like men and women have always done to eachother. This song isn't about two ppl, it's a metaphor for all hetero relationships and the harm they do and the makeup sex that brings
