claudio (the writing writer) was completely sarcastic when he said "mr. man of the year", and the rest of the praises paid to claudio (the crowing). the writing writer asks the crowing if hed like to be written out of his death because at this point it makes no difference and with claudio's valour in the face of death saying "i wont leave this world behind just because your sick ass decided to end everyones life here." the writing writer decided to give him his world. "stop crying boy youve got the other side of your life, so enjoy". hes saying "ive hated writing this story, its ruined alot of my relationships and im done with all of you. ill clean this mess up for you before i go but i wont be coming back. claudio asks for one last favor from the writing writer and that was to take him home.

its another reference to al the killer i think. hes hunted the crowing down and is now in a battle with him. maybe the higher power, the writing writer, employed atk, in a sense, to kill the crowing n is doing his best to kill him. it could possibly be someone with newo... in reference to feathers, kind of using her as a smokeout for the crowing.

i have a couple of problems with the "sizer" thory. if he is indeed fighting mayo why would mayo say "cowards WEVE offed you"? i think its more al the killer with a new character, the hound, searching for The crowing. that absolves alot of the problems ive had with it, but im still struggling with the womans voice at the end. another thing is if it were sizer and chase urging claudio on thorugh the house atlantic why would they say "i hope you die tonight"?

i hear this song and imagine claudio (the crowing) in fornt of a crowd and speaking with them about the upcoming battle with the iro-bots. the build up (in the coming dusk etc.) its prophecying the end of the battle with his followers standing on top of a mountain of broken metal. the "have mercy on the cowards) part is claudio telling himself that they are his people and at the other end of all this craziness he should not punish them for being such cowards.

i agree completely with the mayo theory... and the out of order theory. mayo would be in the "bottom of hell", and the way he talks to him about staring down the barrell is kinda like "think about what youve done to me and my family... dwell on that and let it be the last thought in your f***ed up head." after everything he thought about his mother, and his father and their calm easy demeanor. he recognized that they wouldnt want their son to wrench retribution from a henchman... he was only doing his job. the " little baby" stuff is claudio (the crowing) admonishing himself for the things he has to do and his considering messing all of that up. The mother superior thing is after mayo is left with a knife, locked away somewhere to either starve to death or kill himself, he calls to the head prise to bring the pain. the time is nye fuckers.

dssib, youre a jackass. a song is what you make of it, an artist makes a song to speak to you and only to you, so they'll make a song which can be intrepreted several ways so the person listening relates to the band in more ways than raw talent. its anawesome way of speaking to his fans and if every song reminds you of death and destruction then thats what youre feeling. Anyway, this songs meaning (according to me) is more so about love than anything else. he's asking the person to join him despite the difficulties that lie ahead (will you join me in this dance...?) hes fallen in love with someone and is only falling for the person more and more, but sees their love as only getting increasingly difficult (swooning i am swetp away, as step by step by step you take the lead as drop by drop we start to bleed.) I think its a forbidden love, like that of a lowly peasant and a princess(oh we dance in misery, swept off feet by misery we're swept in the shadows) the second verse is her telling him she cant do it anymore and him asking her not to give up on it, telling her they can continue to keep it a secret. (will you lend yourself to beauty that will horrify, let me hide within the black, the still inside your eyes) he accepts the fact that she cant keep it up with him (so sensual as step by step by step i seperate) and he is detrementally hurt by the fact (as breath by breath i suffocate) the breakdown is him saying who will follow our path? who will try to make a relationship between two worlds work? (so who will follow? who is the lead?) and hes set himself as the martyr for anyone trying to make a relationship like that work (i know ill leave a stain because i bleed) everyone in the world will have some kind of relationship, everyone will be in love at some point in their life (as we dance, we all dance) but every single relationship in the world is a farce and will never work out in the end (we all have no chance at this horrid romance)

this is such a typical analysis of an AFI song, but i see it as a recent breakup. first verse: He's telling her how much he loves her and how good it feels being with her, but she's turning her back out of fright. shes afraid of feeling the way she does because in her heart of hearts she knows she'll just end up hurt. 2nd verse: she had the perfect man and someone who loved her with all of himself, but still couldnt find comfort in his arms, found no point in living in a world without love, and killed herself. He's now asking her how she could do such a thing and leave him in this world heartbroken and alone. the breakdown: He sees life in a different perspective after her death. he sees life through a much more mature persons eyes. he understands that we are only a wink in the world.

AFI are the epitome of emo, aka emotional music. emotional music is the best kind of music... davey and the rest of those boys put their entire selves into their words, music, and meanings. this album is the most deversified album ever, and the fact that AFI can switch it up from punk to pop to something almost like a cult chant... it shows they are true artists. this album is their most beautiful album yet, and to criticize someone for liking it would be the same as criticizing you for liking the chicken song. by the way, youre a narrowminded selfindulgent prick.

i think its about a guy who has ended a relationship that he wanted to keep, but couldnt. He really hurt the person he walked away from, and the family of said hurt *person* see him as nothing more than a bad influence. hence the "poison hearts will never change." all the cracks they lead right to me means to me that everything wrong and unjust in the relationship and every bit of heartache the hurt person is feeling can be contributed directly to him, but the "all the cracks will crawl right through me" means to me that he feels terribly about doing that to the person.

alright, you sons of bitches, AFI are the furthest thing in the music industries from sellouts. I only read a couple of the comments and theyre all talking about afi selling out. thats just a ridiculous theory, they are probably the most underrated band in the history of ever simply because they havent decided to sign with the hottest label or gear more toward the trend of the time. that aside, i think this song's about heartbreak. a man that found his perfect woman, and prior to that woman was considered to be a hot commotity. A kind of guy that others envy, everyone wants to be like, and every girl/gay wants ot be with. he fund his "golden ring", lost it, and has been detrementally hurt. Beautiful song, and the rest of the album's just as good. hopefully you get a chance to hear the whole thing.

ive listened to this song over and over and what ive taken away from it is that this is definitely a song about debauchery and sin. It's a song about the declining emphasis on sex in the united states. its also a song about prostitution and the kind of guys that will pay for sex. in the first verse he tells about how seedy this motel is, setting up the kind of clientel it brings in. it seems to me that the "virgin" is a prostitute not by choice. She has to prostitute herself because she finds no other way to support herself. she has a rosary tucked inside her lingerie, which in my eyes means she wants to do good by god, but has no other alternatives. The lawyer is a business man who has no sex life at home, so he goes to corners and brothels for his lacking sex life. The wife seems to be another kind of whore, the only difference is she married for money. She doesnt seem to want to be in the relationship with the lawyer and by the "there was a terrible crash" thing i think she was on her way to cheat on him, but was in some sort of disaster before she reached her destination. The police officer, as far as i can tell, is a client of the "virgin" that busts her on prostitution charges, but strikes a deal with her that if she gives him sexual pleasure he'll realease her.
