personally i dont think that this song has nothing to do with her being a slut or physical abuse. To me this song is about a girl who is depressed who cuts her self hense "Did your arm grow those scars this July" everything after that first line is a flash back. this flash back is a semi-good flash back for her. "Was it everything you thought it'd be She broke his arm, while she broke her edge on the Fourth. Was it what they call a good time Did the girls find their face to the ground He's passing out While she's making out on the porch" this part is obviously about her losing her virginity to the guy she's with but ends up cheating on him while he's passed out drunk. "let it go Watch him go All we know Let it go" this part is about her regreting what she did because he's leaving her, but she has to elt it go cause he's not comming back. "And there's something about this routine that makes all of the girls not so clean We're looking after our ex-girlfriends laughter it't all I hear And I hope that you find a safe place to lay down the sight of your disgrace Don't look behind It's filth you will find as it lines your walls" this part is now in the present. He's at a party or something where there are a lot of hook ups going on, his ex is also at this place. he cant enjoy himself because he still cares for her but wont give in cause she cheated on him. so basically he loves and hates her at the same time. "When he holds your hand does he squeeze too tight We both know these burns on your neck don't insight Such horrible things Does his punishment sting? Hide under your sheets Hide under your sheets" i think the first line of this verse is talking about him in her but just in the 3rd person. i think he's trying to say that he's trying to keep a hold of her in his mind. the burns of the neck are hikkies from who ever she's been hooking up with. "does his punishments sting" is also in 3rd person. i think his punishment is not physical but its him breaking up with her. she hides under her sheets because she misses him and regrets what she did. |

i agree with bryan on this one i think this whole song is a metaphor i think in general this song is talking about a relationship that went downhill. "our tires are spinning soaring through the air"- i think these two lines are metaphore for a them getting into a fight for w.e reason. "I see your face, out of control so calm, but you're not scared"- shes either screaming and yelling at him or crying either way she seems to understand the situation and is willing to move on from w.e path they choose. "the song on the radio is perfect"- meaning the time for the fighting is perfect because things are just at that point "we're floating through the air but you're not scared"- they're relationship status is up in the air but shes ok with where ever they go with it |

1st verse i think it means that he cant sleep at night because he cant be happy. he cant be happy becaue him and this other person arent talking ne more, and that he cant talk to the other person because he's afraid to what right; which is talking to her about their situation. 2nd verse "so have you been to a place like this"- meaning have you ever been in a situation where you cant be happy because you cared but had to let go of it. "the fever is near i wish you were here"- something happened and he would usually turn to that other person for help but the other person is no longer there 3rd verse "i'm thinking ambitious i've got this feeling things will be alright"- he only thinks things will be alright because he's angry or in denial. "so go break a leg night, been given the green light"- he's saying that its ok for this other person to move on and that he'd be ok with it "they're waiting for you"- there are a lot of other people out there for the other person 4th verse is obvioulsy same as the 2nd verse |
