Based on references to the media, "rhetorical speeches are made on the screen," and "an obviously panicked media machine," and also talking about war and government, I think the "believe without lie" refers to blindly trusting what we are told on tv, in the news, and from "officials." Generally when people talk about religion they use belief, not believe. Not that you can't use either one, it's just something I've noticed. Also, Punk doesn't mean anti-religion. There's no reference to any kind of religion throughout the whole song. It being about religion doesn't make much sense. It would be like giving a speech on politics and at the very end, while everyone is clapping, saying "Oh yeah, and religion sucks." Whatever your opinion on religion is, it still wouldn't make much sense. |
