| Cradle of Filth – Coffin Fodder Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Although I have sufficient grasp of the English language to know the various meanings of fodder, it wouldn't surprise me, with Dani's current writing style, if he decided to write about eating food in a coffin. This song is hopelessly bad. |

| Panic! at the Disco – London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The fact that he felt the need to write a song to prove that he doesn't care what critics think of him is delightfully ironic, although presumably unintentional. | |
| My Chemical Romance – Skylines And Turnstiles Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This broken city sky like butane on my skin. Although I think you can interpret it how you want, this song clearly isn't about lots of stupid americans blown up in some towers by some guys who know how to make a cool scene. I presume it's about vampirism, and I like to think it's personal, rather than about a major, over-publicised, albeit very cool event. |

| Coheed and Cambria – 33 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Am I the only one who really despises the chorus to this song, that, and the fact that the lyrics don't mean anything to me, makes this Coheed's worst song, in my humble, albeit divine, opinion. | |
| Coheed and Cambria – Wake Up Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
If it wasn't for a few beautiful words 'loved', 'kill' and 'annoy'. This would be an awful, vomit inducingly cheesy song. God! I hate pop drum beats!!! It could also do with some 'three evils/al the killer-esque screams. |

| Cradle of Filth – Lustmord and Wargasm (The Lick of Carnivorous Winds) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this song, I think it's about a deal Dani has made with the spectred spirit of Erzsebet Bathory, to 'promise Christendom in flames'. Assuming Midian, From the Cradle to Enslave and Nymphetamine were made to distract attention away from his true plot and make Dani appear to be a image-obsessed goth singer, Christendom should be burning soon. | |
| Cradle of Filth – Bathory Aria: Benighted Like Usher/A Murder of Ravens in Fugue/Eyes That Witnessed Madness Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Just saying something that nobody else seems to have picked up on: I think the lyrics at the start of the song seem to be reflecting Dani's own love for the countess: "If only I could have wept in mourning by her side, etc." I really like this, as he plays a narrator for so much of the album. Anyway, this song is truly beautiful, and it was the first Cradle song I got into, so it holds a special place in my heart. |

| Cradle of Filth – Thirteen Autumns And A Widow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
To be fair, most 'facts' on the life of Erzsebet Bathory are, to some degree, speculation. It has been argued that many of her crimes were exaggerated, even completely fictionalised, by the accusers at her trial and hundreds of authors and historians since then. Her family tree was littered with inbreeding, which may have led to psychosis. the sadism of many of her ancestors doesn't put Erzsebet in a favourable light either. But, to whatever degree she committed these supposed atrocities, Dani has undoubtedly forged his own interpretation of her history. He just took a character he was obsessed with, and wrote a beautiful story of her fall from the light. In conclusion, I think this song is about how cool Erzsebet Bathory was. |

| Sandi Thom – I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Like many other people who've left comments, when I first listened to this song, I thought it was a stupid contradiction, from someone who had no idea what they were talking about, but, on further inspection, this appears to be a rather profound song about innocence, naivete and rebellion. Perhaps a little too much pointless nostalgia, and more than a passing similarity to Janis Joplin, but still very different from everything else you hear on the radio today. It's hard to tell whether she really is naive enough to think everything was great in '69 and '77, or she just likes the idealism of being young in a rebellion. Groovy song, anyway! |

| Cradle of Filth – The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I believe this song is about the reincarnation of evil, not the fear of heresy/witchcraft (the principle of evil), which so many Christians fear, but in flesh form, the fears of the Christian world are now real. | |
| Cradle of Filth – The Black Goddess Rises Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is the revival of the black goddess!!!! She will slay their fucking nazarene through those who worship her, and the church will despair, for their lies will be uncovered. Dani is but a minion of the goddess, but, as he has aided her return, she satiates his hedonistic desires. |
