It's fascinating reading everyone's interpretations. I think i have to listen to the song more to decide which one i agree with. I'm leaning towards the writer's block idea at the moment, but maybe he is taking drugs to help cure his writer's block? This could make sense because it is linking two interpretations (writer's block and drugs) together. |

Well i think the whole thing is metaphorical for saving a relationship that is falling apart. First of all because the song is kinda upbeat and it is a quite fast tempo and really contrasts what the lyrics are all about. Also, "So lets play doctor babe" I think he's saying, let's sort out our relationship. And the whole "foulplay" thing could be that she cheated in the relationship and that's what his driven them apart. Anyway, that's my interpretation. I definitely don't think it's literal. |
