You know, I usually don't agree with the "this song is about god" opinions unless the band is known to be of that sort, but I can see how it would be. To start off, it sounds chaotic and kind of angrified. Maybe he decides to accept Jesus back into his life, suddenly, the music calms down and they begin to clearly sing in harmony with one another, signifying peacefulness. On the other hand, it can be about a guy who left a girl who loved and really appreciated him, only to find a material relationship, perhaps the new girl broke his heart and made him realize that, hey. my ex really cared about me and i left her for this bitch. Then he goes back to her and asks him to "Remind him of how it can be" |

This song is probably about being determined to change something in your life, but you are extremely dependent on other people, an example could be the workplace. You want to be self-sufficient and get over your own shortcomings, but you only get so far until you mess it all up and the only thing you can say is "sorry" because everytime you try to "change things," it blows up in your face, and everything you were trying to make up for, you suddenly remember all the times and it kills you because it keeps happening despite how hard you try to stop. At the end of the song, the person depicted decides to not give up on their resolve so easily and so quickly to really try and change things again, even if it means failing again. |

For some reason, this sounds extremely like Killswitch Engage, almost as if Howard (lead vocalist) from Killswitch Engage were in this one. KSE and All That Remains are good friends I hear, and the lead singer, Phil, I think, wanted to be in KSE. Howard got the part but Phil was a runner up. |

The first few times I heard this song, I didn't like the way the riffs were at certain parts. how it goes DUNNA DER DUNNA DER DUNNA DUNNAAAAA. So I always changed it. One day, I was at work, and listening to the whole album in the background, and I heard this part. There were several tracks I didn't listen to all the way through. I heard this part and somehow time stopped because it was like, fucking pretty and shit. I was like. What the fuck is this song? You know that feeling you get when you know you just found a song made of GOLD and you love it? I was like, this one is the one I always skip, lol. |

The way I see it, the song is about a typical nice guy trying to score the hot babe that he actually gives half a shit about, only for her to not really care in the end, after everything he did. Perhaps the individual described in this song has been through the feeling more than once, and seeks to escape his pain by numbing his emotions in regards to such (women), because his innocence (wanting to give everything to a girl to make her happy & accept you) and his ego (unable to get what you want and be the most important person) Because of all of this, he is awakened to the true reality behind relationships and figures that he was doing it all wrong. Despite all he did, she watches her long for someone else, talk about him, deny all of his advances on her as if he were a child. He feels betrayed because he did so much, and it meant nothing, it breaks his heart to see her care for someone else. So, he turns into the typical male slowly, consumed by his regret about losing this girl after giving all of himself to her, and vows to get revenge by not being the one who is hurt, but the one who hurts. This describes "I wanted to pretend I was you" part. He begins mimicing her actions out of revenge, possibly to get her back or girls in general. But what the meaning of the song is more the screaming part, as I believe this is one of their hardest songs. If you hear the part where it goes "You're the worst thing that ever happened to me." and AFTER THAT, the coming scream is so intense after the silence, implying that it shocks him and then enrages him instantly, snapping him in half emotionally. Essentially, love sucks. |

The person in this song, maybe even Matt himself comes to Room 409 in a apartment complex where he catches his girlfriend cheating on him. "Now I can choose what to do with both of you" is an interesting lyric because he knows he has the proof and there can't be any lies because he sees it right there. He loved her, and she was being two faced and backstabbing, and he begins to get full of so much rage as he watches this go on.. Actually, I believe he begins to punch the girl down instead of the guy, or beat both of their asses. She's crawling away from him then fists start to fly. Bullet is known for having hateful lyrics towards backstabbing women, see Hand of Blood..lol Anyway he's trying to sit there and get over this like a man, but it's killing him inside and repeatedly filling him up with rage, he just keeps playing it over in his head. |

Well, first off, the person depicted in this song could be a mass murderer/serial killer. "there goes my valentine again/i'm soaked in red for what she said/and now she's gone" But not only being a serial killer, he dosen't want to feel broken hearted or be filled with rage, so he took it all out on the girl in fear of those feelings. Soon, he meets another girl who has heard things about what he's done or knows what he's done, and is afraid to be around him/be with him in fear of being killed herself, so she may avoid him in fear of that "is what you've seen too much to take/or are you afraid of being nothing" could point to the fear of death. Also, the person depicted in the song feels the sense of losing sanity when he sees his hand stained with the blood of another person, and that he does it spontaneously and can't stop it. Eventually he confronts her about whatever was holding the relationship or whatever back, and it fills her with guilt so she begins avoiding him out of regret or guilt for what she did. |
