i take this song to mean 2 brothers or friends who had much love for one another. But as they got older and drifted apart, Possibly literally and emotionally, they were no longer on the "same side" of the bed. |

I think it is a very clever irony. I think the person comes to grips with the fact that his own mind will curse and judge him more than any other which is why he calls it a curse and why he will endure countless repeates. I think the point of the irony is somewhat literal however that even though there is instability in the mind, there is a collective stability among friends (due to the near breakup of the band) |

I think this song is saying that we get so cought up in our failed desires that we become stubborn and refuse to accept that its over. And that we even become irresponsible in our quest to fullfill our desires by neglecting who we are through changing. |
