Serious? This song is about nothing on particular. Just look at the lyrics, they barely even rhyme when they do. I can't believe everyone listens to this. Try OutKast, Fugees, Wu-Tang, CunninLynguists, Immortal Technique, A Tribe Called Quest, Tupac. Fuck, even Weezy and Jay-Z. GZA > Soulja Boy. |

There are some differences in the OpenDisc version if you were wondering why there are missing items. The last line of the first verse instead says something like "You come in, right" or hopefully "You come in my eye." In the repeat of the second verse, he says you were like a cloud again instead of you were like a flower you were just like a flower. The 5th verse presented above is nonexistent. Instead, it just repeats the chorus: You were like a cloud, yes you are a flower, then you were a lime, now our love is so sour. He says buttercup instead of butterfly and doesn't repeat the give ups at the end. Finally, after saying start again, dear, he says: When I saw what we had I gave it to everywhere, dear.
When you lost the nurses I found you a doctor, in me.
Ooh, right.
To onthebathroomfloor: you can get it off limewire, although the quality isn't great. If you get the latest edition of Antics with the double-disk OpenDisc, whatnot, it's on the B-Side with all the remixes. http://www.amazon.com/Antics-Special-Interpol/dp/B000A78Z78/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1195143306&sr=1-2 |

I have to admit, some element of rape is plausible to me when I hear "tears drown in the wake of delight". I just think about the delight a girl gets from rape, but she's crying because she, in fact, is being raped. I think that songs like this can't have one particular meaning; they mean something different to every person. That's what this song means to me. I always thought they said, "We're sailing with no way home, my love blahblah." |

Uh, this song is obviously about the assassination of Kennedy. Everything to the bikers, the cavalcade, and the "man standing in the limousine" gives it away, along with here comes the governor.. he's not the one I want. |

Man, these lyrics are really deep and complex. Well, maybe not. It seems as if a 10-years-old could've compiled the lyrics. Good riff, though. |

..I read that this song is actually about when your lover isn't allowing you to have sex with her. |

Great song. Considering others' posts, seems like the song focuses on the conformity and superficiality of suburbs. |
