I think that it means, as a kid, this kid was considered as being one of those goof off kids, and he never did anything, and no one thought he would ever amount to doing anything anymore than doing what he did in his teenage years, but as he got older, his old ways paid off.. like being on the computer most of the time, he got to be really good at the computer systems, so he amounted to more than anyone would have thought he would have ever done in his entire life as a "slacker".. But, that's really the truth. People who are slackers in high school, usually become geniuses or something of that nature... But, that's just me.. This song is the sex. And it is hilarious too. |

Let's recap shall we? Ok, in the beginning of the song, Sonny says, " I can't eat anything without shoving my hands down my throat." He means by that is that he too once struggled with the passion of trying to impress the media in the "thinspiration" of the world today. He suffered from bulimia, and is not struggling with it. Also, he says " I strech myself, across the world, for your entertainment, and you had the nerve to call out my weaknesses and drag me through the dirt." This means, that all the little people who think they are so rad for hating on FFTL, are really hurting the people in the band.. Because of the reasons they give why they don't like the band. It makes them feel insecure of their looks and makes them feel like, unless they look like this, then they won't be liked anymore. But that's not true to all the "true" fans out there. But they also say, "I can't remember, the last time i've seen my own eyes or the color of my skin, do you know what it's like to feel ugly all the time?" That means, being like the people you see on television makes you feel wrong for being you and trying to change yourself so everyone will like you. But, in reality, no one really likes people to change who they are. So, they are saying, without their make-up they feel different than the other people they are compared to in the industry. |
