| Chris De Burgh – Don't Pay The Ferryman Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Well, the ferryman is an allusion to the old greek Mythology: The river styx was what divided the land of the living from the land of the dead - and only the ferryman Charon was there to bring souls from one side to the other. Also, it was common to give the dead a small coin to pay him. Beyond that, I can't even guess what Chris was trying to express here... or -why- a soul shouldn't pay right away. |

| Loreena McKennitt – Prospero's Speech Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Complex enough, this is actually the final speech of an actor in Shakesperean times. ("The Tempest" in this case, where the magiciian Prospero is one of the main figures) Plays ended with the actors saying their thanks to the audience. So, as magical as it sounds, it's a rather mundane matter. Doesn't change the fact, that it's a breathtaking piece, though. =) |

| Mike Oldfield – Moonlight Shadow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I hereby ask everybody who's making theories about the 105 being people to listen to that specific part closely - use headphones if you want... it say "caught in the middle of -A- hundred-and-five". The "a" is the important part, since it immediately rules out 105 people, the 105th street or whatever. Instead, this is a prime example of a police code. (never watched Kojak?) "We have a 105 here." =) So it IS about a robbery. | |
