this song is about a certain disbelief.. "Am I sleeping with my eyes wide? Am I alone? Am I staring into bright lights? Have I gone home?" these questions show that he does not know if he's dreaming things up or perhaps hallucinating.. he doesn't know if he's alone or not.. so he's really wondering about these questions because of a certain person (duh) "I must be dreaming that I'm sitting here On someone else's throne" thrones are for kings.. he feels like a king, he feels like he's dreaming about being very important, dreaming about this girl is making him feel like he's on top of the world "Will I wake to find you waiting by my bedside? Will I wake to find you waiting by my side?" he wonders if he's dreaming about reality or maybe he's wanting his dream to come true "Am I following the lines on a face that's never shown?" the person he's thinking about might not even be real or discovered yet (as in he hasn't met her) all in all, this song is about him wanting to meet the girl of his dreams, or maybe he has someone in mind, but he can't believe it's real |
