To me this song is about the phans at a show. There are some other meanings I can derive but I just picture being there all those times and it's a very fitting description of a solid Phish experience. |

To me, this song is about a person wanting to find God, Jesus, Buddha…whatever you want to call “it”. It starts with you or someone speaking to “it” saying how they don’t want to be anything other than connected to “it”. Moving on my breakdown of the verse “So if I’m inside your head. Don’t believe what you might have read. You’ll see what I might have said. To hear it” is the response from “it” talking about the Bible, Torah, Koran or any religious text and how in those books you will see what someone might have said. Given that man has been known to twist things to his own favor "it" is saying those books may contain some good frame work but don’t believe everything you read. But “to hear it” meaning you are spiritually enlightened, the voice of an aware conscious is in you…well then “come waste your time with me”. Me being God, Jah, Ganesha or what you call “it”. |
