i think that at the beginning of the song, "Poison oak" is being referred to death. Something we all try to avoid. and, "I fell asleep with you still talking to me You said you weren't afraid to die" I think means conor wasn't listening, or paying attention when one of his cousin's (Colin maybe) talked about suicide. Also "I was young enough, I still believed in war" might have been talking about conor beleiving in fighting, and not giving up on life like the person he is writing about. i don't know, that was just my thought and i may be completley off. But I'm pretty sure it is about his cousin, i've read it before that he's said that. |
