Megadeth – 502 Lyrics 19 years ago
Incidentally, Mustaine was arrested for a 502 not long after this track was done.

Megadeth – I'll Get Even Lyrics 19 years ago
According to Mustaine, the title is the subject: getting even. It's too bad the song is kind of watered-down.

Megadeth – Something I'm Not Lyrics 19 years ago
"I just don't see how trying new things means they sold out, I'm sorry."

I've been listening to them up until St. Anger. The fact that they devolved rather than evolved this time around (no solos? pansies) is the point that the current sell-out debate is hinged on- and I agree. Sell-outs they are.

Megadeth – My Creation Lyrics 19 years ago
Nick Menza wrote this piece about the Frankenstein monster.

Megadeth – Holy Wars... The Punishment Due Lyrics 19 years ago
i_am_the_law: It's a two-part song.

Mustiane should probably pick up the Garth Ennis Punisher series.

Iron Maiden – The Longest Day Lyrics 19 years ago
It's just part of people injecting politics into places where it doesn't belong. They just like believing that everyone's on their side, grasping at straws, even when someone is just standing outside the issue altogether.

Besides, I believe that Bruce himself said once that he hates hippies.

Bruce Dickinson – Son Of A Gun Lyrics 19 years ago
Bruce said in an early solo career show on the Anthology DVD that "cowboys should stay in movies." This song is about someone who loses touch with reality and decides to live life as an action movie.

Bruce Dickinson – Gods Of War Lyrics 19 years ago
I guess it's about someone who was born and bred to fight and die in battle, knowing victory of the kill as the only joy life has to offer and using religion to justify violence.

Bruce Dickinson – King In Crimson Lyrics 19 years ago
Beelzebub is a separate entity from Satan, depending on your references. But still, the example Kaine_lawless pointed out is actually a pretty weak one because it can still make grammatical sense.

Bruce Dickinson – Devil on a Hog Lyrics 19 years ago
This is a bad-ass biker theme song.

Bruce Dickinson – Silver Wings Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is about the pilot of a downed plane who dies when the rest of his crew manages to escape who is cursed to fly the skies in the ethereal form of his damaged aircraft for eternity.

Iron Maiden – The Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg Lyrics 19 years ago
"off the topic of who benjamin breeg is though, this song kicks ass. I can't wait for the album this september."

It's this month now. ;)

Iron Maiden – Blood Brothers Lyrics 19 years ago
RainbowDemon was correct. He dedicated the song to his father both AFTER it was written and AFTER he passed. That's the truth, "pure and simple." (nyah nyah, OTM)

Iron Maiden – Fear of the Dark Lyrics 19 years ago
Steve Harris said somewhere that he wrote this song about his childhood phobia.

Iron Maiden – Paschendale Lyrics 19 years ago
Rorodog is correct. Also, I believe Adrian Smith was the main person in charge of writing this song. Harris actually took a back seat to this one, but he was still involved.

Bruce Dickinson – Omega Lyrics 19 years ago
I took it for face value, personally. The description along with plainly stating "Omega Zero Day" conveyed to me that this is about the inevitable day that the sun finally dies, dragging everything in this solar system along with it.

Bruce Dickinson – Faith Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is about ending a "mutually abusive relationship" as Bruce calls it.

Bruce Dickinson – Meltdown Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is a sharp criticism of Iron Maiden after his departure from the group in the early 90s.

Bruce Dickinson – Wicker Man Lyrics 19 years ago
Wrong "Wicker Man" phikita. You're thinking of the Iron Maiden track, which is completely different.

This song seems to refer to a lot of North European Nordic beliefs. The wicker man was a straw figure that was burnt as worship to their gods and they believed that every ash and amber that resulted from this burning would bless everything it comes in contact with.
