PEOPLE. this is nto a love song. at all. how can you not see this being about kidnapping, infatuation and murder?? okay, everyone else that reads this is going to be like wtf are you talking about but haha I have this whole storyline thought out to this song. I think it can honestly be though of as demon possession. Like maybe someone close to the main charector passed away and the main charector owed something to this person, so the person decides to possess them or "use their body as they sleep". maybe the line "a phone call I'd rather not recieve" is about like, the calling from the spirit that takes their place in the protaginists body and their relentlessness and spontanitity as they do it. I think the title of the song also goes with it- it's an abuse of power for no reason and the spirit takes over the protaginist for no really good reason. Yeah, this probably made no sense at all |

I love this song. it's simply beautiful and gives me chills. Now everyones going to say I analyzed this way too much but I see this song as sort of abotu a futuristic society. like I think thats what the line " there won't be a moon and there wont be a sun" is about- like, the polution and general state of the world has gotten so bad that you can't see it. and the line "theyll kill a man for what his fathers done" means that maybe this society is extremly strict and you have to follow a lot of rules or they will murder you and your entire family. I think the whole part about beign "sent to a room sat ina chair" is being interrogated by the government about his fathers doings and even his own and the part about beign "not a child, much younger than that" is because the protaginist is beign tortured for information and has regressed into sort of a child like state to try to ignore whats going on around him. yeah, I probably anazlzed this wayyy to much. but it's a beautiful song. |

this is really a great song. maybe it's just me, overanalyzing as usual but I always took it to be a sort of scifi thing. Like maybe the charectors (in the song) are running from sleep. Like if they sleepthey will turn into something else, so they plan to stay awake and outrun it. to keep on living. wow that sounded pretty trippy and made no sense. |

Coule really only one person have commented on this song? its a really really unique song and I love it. I always thought that the lyrics were about two people in love that think their life was going to be perfect "i see us growing old together" but as always, peoples lives dont turn out the way they think it would be. I see that line as maybe a foreshadowing- something will happen to one of them to make them not be able to grow old together.. or maybe i look to much into things |
