This song is cool... very catchy. I love the vocals! Ive listened to it more times than i can count. But i wonder at the end of the song... and somewhere inside me if there more to life than this.. you know. More than just parties... I know its dangerous to test the system. I'm not against fun, not all. "And so now we can see how easily we become hopelessly tangled up in the very webs we've spun." I think this line is maybe where i got these feelings... I think after a run at it all... and when i good time goes to far... i kinda feel hopeless like that. Like how did all that get me here? But it is way to complicated. Tangled webs. I just am left to wonder if there's more... i think there is... you know. This strange feeling was put here for a reason.. I am disappointed that know one has commented on this song yet. but I an also proud to be the first to share my opinion on it. Personally I love House of Heroes and everything they stand for. I like their tone and their way of digging into our souls. I think this song is talking about finding freedom, finding something to believe in, finding healing. "Find the bolt fused in the bone." I think explains the way we get stuck in things in the material and fake way of life. I think "The cheerleading squad" must represent this world and it material fakeness. I think that he is singing about how he betrayed the "squad" and forged himself in the "fire". Now, "fire" that is a question what does fire mean? I know there is controversy over the fact. But I believe the fire stands for freedom in Christ. Not "religion" but knowing that someone is there for you and cares about you even when we screw up. With this freedom we "learn to heal." The (wings of Iron) ah, now what could that mean? Well, I have come to believe that each one of us has something that we are holding on to. A burden that we are constantly carrying around on our backs and in our hearts. When we forge ourselves in the fire God will lighten our load and remove our wings of iron all we have to do is ask. "We have slept in the belly of a beast" done things we wish we hadn't, been places that we want to forget. Everything we have done will be "burned clean, drops from above wash us clean." Sometimes we don't understand what is happening in our lives or why we meet certain people. But God knows the big picture. So when something we think is bad happens in our lives God might use it for better. He knows what is "coming." So everyone I am forged in the fire and it is burning in me what about you???? |

I want ot coment on what some of you have siad about Rock Music and Christianity.
I try to relate to the songs I hear. Make them what is good for me. I am a Christian I do listen to whatever is on the radio I a mnot some HOLY person that thinks they know everything. I am a crappy person just like everyine else. But I believe in Crist and that give me a hope. I am going to write what this song means to me. It will mean something diffrent to everyone who reads it.
"I was hiding away from myself, away from you (God)."
"Like nothing, though something was terribly wrong" I think this explains how to the world what I was doing was nothing. But to God it was a big deal.
"And I admit that I was only waiting for the right time. Night time, the right moment for you to look away. Though you never did, I pretended for a while. So I could walk where I don't belong." For me this is when I was not wanting to folow God but felt ashamed of him watching me do things that I knew were wrong.
"And I remember every word you said, Come back in time, come back." This when I kept remembering God's promise for us, he will always execpt us back into his arms no matter how bad or how worthless we feel.
"And I remember I would soon be dead
Pitiful, so pitiful." This is when I relized that I would not last forever life is short. I got to wondering what would happen to me when I die. I felt like a Pitiful exestince in this world I felt alone and unforfilled.
"But I know, as I hammered those nails into your beautiful hands. Your eyes still try to search for mine, but I look away. Now your eyes are the only thing that can save me. I'm still so afraid of them piercing." This is the sadest part of the story. When I relized it was my wanting to get rid of God (sin) that he had to die for so that I would not have to be seprated from him forever. I felt ever more ashamed and pitiful. This is where you have to say, "will I execpt the gift god gave me or will I contue with my oitiful life. Well thats all I have to tell . This story fistis my life like a glove thanks for reading. |

I have read in all of your coments that I think are all very good. This is what I think about the song. Sleepwalking to me means: We have to live in the world but we aren't spoused to walk in it. There for we must sleepwalk. When Christian says, "I'm just sleeptalking for myself." Maybe is is tring to tell others about Jesus but they are ignoreing him. I think maybe this song is battle between him and the world trying to arouse him from his sleep as it so often does to us. One of the other menbers wife had a baybe and another one got married. I read in a magizene that all of them were learning about love. In deaths, newbirths, marige. But this song is about death and how if you believe in Jesus you will go to heaven and you will be able to talk agian with the other believers. "And know that we will talk on the other side." This song means alot to me too. My Uncle and his wife are broke up right now who knows what will happen. But thye say in the song, "I heard you say you can't change a stubborn heart I can relate 'cause that's how I feel when I talk with you." That line is sooooo true. My uncle says that she is stubborn but I thought (who is stubborn?) I will say it agian I think we are all searching for happieness. So when we can't find it we think something in our life must be wrong. Then we look at our mariges, jobs, friends, and we begin to throw them away thinking they are what is making us unhappy. But is like in the song, "And you'll keep moving on until you learn what love is." True love will only make us happy and content with our lives. It will only come from one place and that is Jesus. Yea, I know alot of christian hiporcats who talk and don't live up to what they say. But I believe God is real and peole fail they live in all this crap and it is hard. I try to live a good life and live up to what I say but hey like I said life is hard!!!! If you are listing to God and you believe in him and you think anything is possible through him. It can happen. God can't give everyone what they want I mean what if he gave Hitler what he realy wanted. About shootings I know this dude who saw his dad get shot. This kid was a mess problems at school, hated life, didn't think a crud about himself. But when his dad died his life came to a screeching halt. He had to face himself and he relized how short life really was what is it could have been him and not his father. I mean this place is empty. Everytime we look around all we see is fakeness. But he realized that what his dad had been telling him all these years maybe was true. Maybe there was more than girls and crap. Yes this was a weak time in his life but I believe that when we are weak we become vonarable and we find ourselves venturing deeper into the unknowns of life. Anyway this dude found that he had hope and that their was something out there bigger than his crappy life. He found the happieness he was looking for all the time. He found is in believeing in Jesus and knowing that he didn't have to do anything to get in to heaven. Cuz he knew that if you had to work your way to heaven he had already screwd it. I know for a fact his dad didn't want to die but he would have done it if it meant his son would get to live a happy forfilled life now and in eternaty. I think the same thing goes with all the other stuff like 911 for instance yes it was horable and I would have done anything to prevent it. But look how it brought us as a nation and as the people together. Who knows what we stoped when we tighted are national secruty. We are free to think and believe whatever we want soo this is just what I believe. I mean what do you have to loose my relationship with him has made me more happy than anything I have tried so far. If in the end of everthing you find God is real and their is hell wouldn't it be nice to be on Gods side!!! This songs means soo much to me. I heard this song and it made me think...All of us are searching for our open arm or whaterver your open arm may be. A girl, someone to listen, or something to believe in. I think the meaning of a song is diffrent for everyone but I feel that this is what it meant to me. When Christian said I'll put my heart on my sleeve I think he was saying that he was tired of hiding in the dark (in himself) and he was ready to feel agian no matter if it was pain. Alot of us hide in ourself because we are afried of being hurt. We go around depressed and looking for that thing that will make us happy. This song has no happy ending it just leaves you thinking...what makes me happy...who do I but my trust in????? |
