Isnt the title of the song I'd LOVE to change the world, not I'd LIKE to Change the World....
Someone F'ed up on that one. I always thought it was mocking the right wing, cause usually conservatives like to keep the status quo at all times, cause they're usually on top. Plus I dont think the band would have gained any recognition if they called liberals freaks and hairies/dykes and fairies, since most ppl back in the day listened to rock like this
Either way i dont really care cause this song is so freaking awsome |

I like master_debater's logic. He said because millions of people like it, it must be a good song, right? That logic is retarded- so is this song |

I can't believe nobody has said this yet. All of you give complex answers to a basic answer, the leader of the Iranian revolution over the shaw, the Ayatollah Khomeini died, Young and Poncho were looking at photos of his feuneral. People were burning American flags (For some retarded reason when somthing bad happens people in the Middle East burn american flags), and Poncho was afraid of what might happen to them on their upcoming european tour. He said somthing like, "We should stay away from the middle east. Its probably better that we just Keep on Rockin' in the Free World." Young liked the phrase so much he wanted to make a song of it. This song has nothing to do with all of ur complex explainations, although I could see y u guys thought it. |
