the thing about these lyrics that hit the hardest with me was the sheer black-and-whiteness of them.. i mean when he says 'heaven just can't have you', it's like when a child says something and you ask why, and they say 'it just is'. also, it's a very sentimental song, especially when he talks about 'your black dress and my guitar'.. its like, her black dress is what she was wearing when she was buried (ie when he had to let go... i find that funerals are the most finalising thing about someone's death) and his guitar which symbolises a huge part of his life (i mean, it's pretty much his whole career ain't it?)
yeah. there's so much to this song than just the fact that he's dug up his dead lover... you scratch the surface and you find so much more. |

anyway i was gonna say, i love the lyrics for that and i know exactly what he's talking about.... society is so critical, they put you under the microscope, and famous(ish) people must feel that so much.. |

i agree with permanentmarker.... you look past the morbid aspects at the sheer rawness of the emotions he's writing about... that is the most powerful song about loss i have ever heard (yes, it made me cry...) |

ok, im gonna sound like a complete nerd to say this, but there's an actual name for what daz is talkin about.... i learned it cos i'm doing psychology this year.. k well it's called a hypnogognic jerk and yeah it's when you're about to fall asleep and all your muscles try to disengage at the same time which causes them to twitch and wake you up.
