| As I Lay Dying – This Is Who We Are Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is a brilliant song. The piano outro adds so much to it, and the vocals are incredible. Speaking of which, is that Tim singing in the chorus? Because Josh isn't credited for this track in the album liner notes, and that's definitely a new voice. Lyrically, I think this is the same areas that As I Lay Dying like to focus on. Human beings are thoughtless, selfish and undeserving of God's grace, and yet, he continues to bestow it upon us. So Tim is saying that he will embrace this redemption with open arms, adding that he doesn't care how weak others may ridicule him as. |

Oh, and here's the correct lyrics, as in not the pile of crap that was submitted. Seize a darkened day, there's only hell to pay, and no one left to see this prodigal return. Sweet apathy's my toll. You mourn the draining soul. I'll dig a deeper hole. Sanctity, a breath away. Just a breath away. Blacken the cursed sun. You're not the only one to have sunk so far and low. There is no tomorrow. A tragedy on display, a sickness for all to see. I will kill this part of myself that I hate and that I see in you. It was always mine, anyway. There's something you can't take away. I choose not to feel a thing. Sanctity, a breath away. Just a breath away. Away. Just a breath away. Blacken the cursed sun. You're not the only one to have sunk so far and low. There is no tomorrow. Blacken the cursed sun. Blacken what's left to be done. Blacken, because now you know, there is no tomorrow. Is there still hope for us? Can we still be saved? Does your God hold a place for us? Is there time to repent? Will we rise from the dead? Can these sins even be forgiven? Is there still hope for us? Were we ever even alive? Is any of this even real? You're just a breath away. You're just a breath away. Better to die quick, fighting on your feet, then to live forever, begging on your knees. No. Can we still be saved? Hell no! Does your God hold a place for us? Hell no! Is there time to repent? Hell no! Will we rise from the dead? Hell no! Can these sins even be forgiven? Hell no! Is there still hope for us? Hell no! Were we ever even alive? Hell no! Is any of this even real? Hell no! |

| I'm still working on the meaning, but for now, I'll just say that I bloody love that last echo of the word "Knees" at the end of the song before he goes all Revival-style. | |

| I'd agree with ZionsVillageIdiot , but Lamb Of God are actually down with Slipknot and have toured with them, probably with the phrase "To each his fucking own" on their minds. | |
| Lamb of God – Walk with Me in Hell Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think this song is about people who can't find solace in their religious beliefs. Randy is sort of playing the part of Satan (Although it could just be metaphorical), telling people to essentially embrace their dark sides, their inner evils as comfort for what religion left them with. As he says "You're never alone" Because we will always have our demons to turn to. And for pure, letting the entire album run through goodness, I gotta agree with BTP17 - Palaces is classic. I think Sacrament might be my new favourite though, sorry. |

| Alexisonfire – Jubella Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The band once stated that this song is actually about the end of the world. I remember hearing the name Jubella in the movie "From Hell", she was one of four women in hebrew lore who were executed. | |
| Alexisonfire – Crisis Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The new album's artwork is completely tied in with this particular song. It even says in the liner notes. It's pretty much just about a blizzard in 1977 that hit St. Catharines and most of the Niagara region. | |

As well, a few corrections: Ya' think it'd spill on the page Should be You make it spill on the page. Randy never says imitation in the entire song, it's always invitation. but I ain't going to call names Should be But I ain't one to call names And that's "Blind preacher". Otherwise, it's all good But the elimation of imitation might limit the Phil Anselmo references. |

I think it's basically about someone who spreads their opinion despite their blatant ignorance towards the subject. I'd pull some lyrics to point to Bush, but the dudes in the band have assured us that there is not a single political song on the entire new record. To me, it points towards contrived anti-society, and how someone who pretends to be a rebel and tries to break the mould eventually becomes as bad as the culture they were originally trying to distance themselves from. LoG owns. |

| Lamb of God – Terror & Hubris In The House Of Frank Pollard Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Randy actually said in a Revolver interview that the song was about two things. The first thing was about Frank Pollard's paintings, which would be the product of strange dreams that Pollard would have. The second thing was that whenever they were at Pollard's house, really weird, surreal things would happen in it that nobody could explain. He also notes that he has long since lost touch with Pollard (In the interview, that is.) |

Actually, it's not the only track. On Pathetic, he goes even more melodic. |

| Lamb of God – Redneck Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Randy actually said in an interview in Revolver that the song is about just needing to beat the crap out of someone who was getting in his face. Who it is, I have no idea. | |
