Long though it is, I had no trouble reading it all! - Great analysis, man you must get some ace English marks. But what fun deciphering FOB lyrics rather than Lord Of The Flies or something, eh? Well, i find anyway, Great stuff :) I've always loved the song - The whole best friend/lovers section relates to me as having a messy line between just really close friends and actual lovers in a relationship. Another common folly in some teenage relationships would you say ? :P |

I have the same idea as you about the "I cast a spell over the West to make you think of me the same way I think of you" lyrics, about him literally, casting a spell over "The Western Civilization" with his music and general charm, to, as you said, cause her to admire and love him in the same way he does her. Yellow checkered cars - yeah, as has been mentioned - taxis. |

| Pendulum – Propane Nightmares Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This I know is quite vague, but came to me whilst I was reading from another context - the similarity between the song's title and the phrase "Prone To Nightmares". Is there a literary term for this kind of thing, when it's a play on words to make it similar but not the same, and not an anagram...? Vague though it is, I think this has more believability than the "highly explosive nightmares" idea, even though I haven't figured the actual connection with my discovery to the song. I briefly read all the stuff on the Heaven's Gate cult but didn't pick up anything specific about that having connections with "propane". Hmm, what do you think? |

| The Feeling – Miss You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think maybe its about a relationship that has been kind of stopped because the 2 people have not been able to see each other (one moved away or something) and that he still very much wishes things could go back to the way they were and the other one may feel the same way but is denying it, maybe even denying that they ever even loved him so he is reminding the person how they "couldn't hide it" and "everyone knew it" ( that they loved each other) and "I was the sea and sky, was you" meaning they meant everything to each other but then something happened "a big black cloud came rolling in" not to stop them loving each other, but to stop them seeing each other?! "I wonder who you've seen, and i hope that he's a friend" - he hopes that he hasn't been replaced |

| Take That – Shine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I love this song, I think its about a person who is kind of depressed for no real reason and has like a big black cloud over their head clogging their thoughts or as they say "stuck in a hole" and the person behind the song is trying to lift them out and lift their spirits, and trying to make them realize that they could be so much happier just by changing their views on things. |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Under the Bridge Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I love this song, one of the greatest of all time....i think its about...when AK was really lonely..apparently he started singing it when he was driving to get drugs and pulled over to write it down...he started reflecting on what was really important to him- "atleast i have her love, the city she loves me"... "under the bridge" relates to a drug dealing spot, which was the only available place to get drugs at the time. and AKs friend Mario knew that you had to be mafia/italian...or something like that anyway..to get to "under the bridge" so they got AK all dressed up and he put on a accent to get it.... the end part of the song is basically about his dealing with drugs (Under the bridge downtown) Is where I drew some blood (Under the bridge downtown) I could not get enough ..of the drugs (Under the bridge downtown) Forgot about my love...getting high, forgot he cared.. (Under the bridge downtown) I gave my life away...on drugs he gave his chance of the band and etc away anyway peace out x x x |
