This song sounds like she's dealing with a breakup through a series of meaningless rebound sex or something. Perhaps everyone's been telling her that the healing process is a slow road, but she runs straight into the arms/bed of another, hence "unpaving her path." Her friends or whoever may be warning her that she probably isn't really healing, and that she's only feeling better for the illegitimate feelings of being wanted rebounds tend to temporarily grant. |

yeah yeah whatever, but that first verse reminds me of everyone i know and myself. all these hipsters walk around, "howie hawkins this, green party that, fuck global warming, let's change things by becoming vegan and taking all the tags off these clothes that were made by children" and they have fucking pets and stand around talking shit about the gov't, about pop culture, about the state of america. "talking shit about how we're all so upset about the disappearing ground, as we watch it melt" so the polar ice caps are melting due to global warming, and everyone and their pets are oh so concerned. |

with a head like a vulture and heart full of hornets he drives off the cliff into the blue not even the priestess with her wrenches and secret powers could save him from danger for a little while not even she could save him with a head like a vulture and heart full of hornets he drives off the cliff into the blue not even she could save him they found him inside the motor i don't know, for some reason i feel like that last line adds a lot.. this song ends in such a weird way.. what does stevie nicks have to do with anything?? |

i'm trying to make out the lyrics... i think it's "stand steadfast erect and see" and "pushed under this expanse of buzzing stars... fill this hollow that lovers' voices occupy" this is my favorite song on the album as of this moment. the piano has such a great antiquated buzz about it.. i'm thinking either working things out after infidelity, orrr.. being there for your lover who is going through some hard times. the line about "red cheeked days... shaking loose these songs..." reminds me of bad times in my life where i'd turned to the bottle and sad sad songs. "the fire which you stole" reminds me of the story of prometheus, who pitied ancient humans and gave them divine fire which he stole from olympus. he also gave them all forms of art... for which he was punished with eternal torture. not really sure what that has to do with this though, probably nothing |
