| My Chemical Romance – Welcome To The Black Parade Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Okay you really have to read into both this song and the entire album when listening to this song. Also when listening to this album, try to listen to it with the mindset that it is progressing backwards in time, The End being The Patient's funeral, etc. The Black Parade is the single most powerful event in the life of the patient. His father took him to the city to see a parade when he was very young. This parade was supposed to be celebrating the end of 'the great war' but really was just more pro-war propaganda. The Patient's father asked him if, when he grew up, he would do him one last favor and join the military. This leads him to leave his lover even though he doesn't want to (Famous Last Words) and go to war because he is fed up with society (Disenchanted) He finally leaves with Sleep (close your eyes, kiss me goodbye, etc.) During the war he writes home to his mother after being wounded (Mama) and soon after returns home. Its also possible he developed his 'cancer' during this time which is why he was sent home. His mother disowns him for the person he has become in the military. (perhaps he goes to live with his aunt marie?) and ends up in the hospital where he begins to realize he is going to die. (Cancer) He expresses his rage and anger at this fact, and begins to lose his mind. (House of Wolves). His ex-lover visits him and he still has feelings for her. She, however, has moved on while he was away in the war. (I Don't Love You) He looks back on where his life went wrong, why he was dying and had no love, and realizes that it was his father who urged him to join 'the black parade' He feels insignificant and loses any will to live he still has (The Sharpest Lives and This Is How I Disappear) and wishes he was back with his brothers in arms and just wants to pain to go away. Albeit slowly, he finally dies (Dead!) and comes to terms with his death and realizes it's all pointless anyway. The album closes (or rather begins) with his funeral, and he pleads for his friends and family not to cry, and be happy. For if they aren't happy with who they are, they could always be dead, and that's always worse. Long post I know. Just what I've gathered from the games on the Website and some logic and long nights of thinking. |

| Hmm, I think you people are retarded. Something tells me MUSE doesn't give a shit about U.S. politics, being as they are British and spend very little time in the U.S. | |
