yeah! i thought of big fish too!!! maybe due to my total and complete tim burton fixation. it's such a great upbeat song. and i absolutely love the imagery of the circus. I love the line "trumpets play sick lullabies" it just adds such a beautful picture of those sick lullabies, but those lullabies will follow the narrator forever because it reminds him of her. doesn't love just suck? I didn't get into the hush sound until i saw them with Panic! last month. Phenominal show. But there intrustment usage is wonderful as well as some of their recurring themes throughout their lyrics. |

What do you guys think? I've been trying to figure out the two minute pause between the two segments. Maybe it's supposed to be a song in itself, using silence to mark the profound. Or maybe it's showing a passing of time. The first part seems sad because 'you' (in the terms of the song) didn't leave on time. Since they didn't leave on time, something bad happened to them (drowned or metaphor for scrambling towards something, trying to gain footing). The second part seems like later, later in life and later in the song. The narrator seems to be looking back on their life and trying to determine some sense out of it. "you don't know me". well, does he really know hisself? |
