I get the whores with bad feet now.. I think it is talking about society that looks like everything is fine but "bad feet" because underneath everything it is unstable. or it could mean literally whores, girls with "bad feet" who look all nice and pretty on the outside, but are really a mess on the inside, and being "whores" because of their lack of self respect for themselves.. and being defeated by them could mean: say, a guy (consumer) wants a girl, who is he most likely to pick? a whore (something that's easy and looks all nice and pretty out on the outside) right? he's not going to pick the nice, stable (but maybe not as good looking) one, so the whore is defeating the other girl. i'm not saying all guys are like that, but i think that's what the song could be talking about. i think it's saying our society is being way too materialistic, wanting everything to look nice, but caring less about feelings or whats on the inside, and everything coming easy (back to the whore thing) and not wanting something that's worth while and going to last because we have let our morals go way down and don't care about things like that anymore or, it could just actually be about sex/pornos, or the whole guys wanting sluts thing. but cigaro which is sexual links back to the government and society so i'm thinking this song might too. and the "beat the meat" means masurbation.. doing sexual "acts" alone.. aka thinking for yourself.. to "treat the feet" maybe get rid of the unstability of our society. i'm not sure how the "to the sweet milky seat" would go to with that theory.. but maybe i could figure it out |

Ok so. I do this is about loving your best friend. (the title helps a little) Or they could of had a relationship earlier, and now are "just friends" doesn't really make much of a difference, mainly he loves his best friend. "I've been hiding in this bed for weeks from this" Pure avoidance. "Throats raw from screaming and I haven't said a word" He has been screaming inside, but hasn't said a word outloud, or to anyone at all. "The sky is calling, and the stars they point to this" Not sure if the stars represent people or just his conscious, but it is telling him to do what he is about to do. "To a chair we see your breath in the air, but only for a little while" I think it means she comes and goes and doesn't see much of her at all. I think the chair might have something to do with stability and being settled, like someone else mentioned. And seeing her breath in the air, is her talking. And maybe he can see it, has something to do with feeling "cold" or her being "cold" to him. "Your cold pale skin and tainted purple lips" Maybe she is pale because she is cold. And the "tainted purple lips". I wasn't too sure what tainted meant, so I looked it up. 1. To affect with or as if with a disease. 2. To affect with decay or putrefaction; spoil. See Synonyms at contaminate. 3. To corrupt morally. 4. To affect with a tinge of something reprehensible. Verb intr. To become affected with decay or putrefaction; spoil. This suggest to me that she has been using them a lot, has been kissing a lot of people, or sleeping around or having a lot of other relations with guys in general. The tainted I think means they were decayed or had a diease or corrupted morally, spoiled, a lot of the other definitions of tainted could work too, which means to me more that she was "kissing a lot" and the purple could mean the blood in them from using them. Somewhat of a metaphor. "Let me embrace you with this kiss" Comforting her with a kiss. Or doing more with her. "And together we'll float like angels. Together... together we will float, like angels" Not really floating, just that "weak in the knees" feeling that you get when you're in love. Like you're almost floating on air. "float like angels" is a simile. "Higher than the heavens the clouds part ways 'Promise me to never look down!' and we'll stay like this forever" He feels like it is "heaven" because he is so happy, to say the least. 'Promise me to never look down!' is kind of like him saying to her not to look down and want to go to back to her other life and leave him forever (when you're afraid of heights, looking down will make you see how far up your are, or in her case how far out she is from her reality, and make you go back down, aka her going back to where she was before) and wake him up from his wonderful "dream". I don't personally think it's a dream though, I just think it is all metaphors for something that actually happened. "If your stomach feels weak than my work here is done To hide from our twisted ways, I've been hiding in this bed Been hiding in this bed for weeks" Something bad happened to her, or maybe she just feels lonely, so he "embraced her with a kiss" to comfort her and make her feel better. "If your stomach feels weak than my work here is done" he wanted to give her that "weak in the knees" or the "butterflies in the stomach" feeling of being in love, so hopefully maybe she will feel something for him. This also suggests to me that he just wants to make her feel that way to get back at her for all the times she has done that to him. Or, if they have had a past relationship, give her that feeling from him that she hasn't felt for a while that will bring back feelings for him. "To hide from our twisted ways, I've been hiding in this bed, Been hiding in this bed for weeks" Not so sure here but I think he knows what they're doing is "twisted" and he's been "hiding in this bed" to trying to avoid her, because he knows that if she ever called out for him, or was hurt again, that he would come to her rescue to comfort her, no questions asked. Maybe this has happened several times, and he tries to avoid it each time, but eventually gives in because of his love for her. |

Someone is sending you mixed singals, and you're not sure how they really feel. Being led on. "My love was my decay" Almost as if... loving her is what is making him so confused and out of it so he's not himself anymore. I used to think it was "My love was OUR decay" it made more sense to me then. As if, loving her is what ruined their friendship and made all this mess. I think the song still has that meaning, though. |

I just started listening to Chiodos more, and now I'm in love with this song. And when I signed up for this website like 3 minutes ago I made the "So I'll keep dreaming part" my username. "Basically givign an old relationship another shot. not letting anything get in the way this time. No matter what happens just making it work it takes two to fall in love. if she just believed what they had was amazing they could be so happy in love" Yep. I'll go with that. Good job. If you believed what you felt you would be in love. So amazing. Made me think a lot. |
