The middle section is in reference to the death of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997. The crash that killed her was widely supposed to have been caused by paparazzi - the "hacks in macs" - pursuing the car she was in (a Mercedes-Benz). The nation mourned, but continued to buy the "evil tabloids" that were indirectly responsible for her death. |
