These types of hallucinations are pretty susceptible to expectations - for example, if you spend countless hours playing World of Warcraft, hallucinations of these types are likely to be in setting that greatly resembles WoW. Hallucinations of "The Presence" would grow in number as the numbers of reports increase. For a country of people constantly on a drug like this, a spark of this type of vision in the media would be all it takes to make people start seeing it, and turn it into a vicious cycle. Eventually it would turn into something very real for masses of drugged people. |
