| i like this song a lot, it seems to put all those jumbled emotions and thoughts you go through, when falling out of love in a nice little song. i guess you can compare it to the stages of grief, you know denial, then bla bla , barganing, then bla bla acceptance. its like at first he's mad at the takes a jab at how she's cold, then it grows as he encourages her to leave. then he tries to be strong and reveals that he still has feelings for her, until he finally just lets it go and admits he loves her. i think everyone goes through this cycle over and over again until one day they just forget about the person they used to love | |

STUPID..PRETENTIOUS..UNORIGINAL This is why i don't like a lot of political punk songs, with some exceptions with bands like adequate seven and operation ivy. most political "punk" music like this and American idiot are like i said before are always either stupid, pretentious, or unoriginal. sadly most of the time being all 3. i know where the song is trying to go, its taking a jab at the government, basically saying a for once a white person [the band] is trying to stop a war instead of start it. [like the gov't]. bla bla bla peace love and kisses/freedom for everone. but at the same time it's perpetuating the stereo type that non-Caucasians are not a powerful voice in our government to start or end a war. this is the reason why a lot of non-Cacasians don't get elected, it's all politics[obviously duh lol] why would a group elect a "minority" when they can elect a white guy that people will listen to. either that or elect a non-Caucasian but only if he acts white, which he will then later be criticized for [i.e. barack obama] this song is a practice of futility, they even say it themselves. they wright all these songs against the war, but not too much happens and the war still goes on. which to me just makes them look like a bunch of money grubing new punks on the block, who are taking advantage of their no clue how the world run youth demographic, i think adequate seven puts it best when they say "we always attack the symptom not the cause and don't address this: global deprivation seems like we avoid the truth we need a deeper understanding education of the youth inequity disbanded any arguments? ...that don't have anything to do with grammar or spelling |

henry david Thoreau wrote Walden Or, Life in the Woods, i haven't read it but the synopsis on amazon is "In this illustrated adaptation of Thoreau's famous work, a man retreats into the woods and discovers the joys of solitude and nature." and in the song it says stuff like "sometimes in the evening when I’m lying in my bed I am taken to the forest to the isolated shed and I wake with is words resonating in my head" thats my little bit |
