this song was on gossip girl, and as soon as the episode finished i rushed to the computer to find out what it was. this song is amazing how it builds so gradually it has so much heart in it. i think its about a girl and a guy, and he's trying to save her, but has slightly given up at the same time, but he's trying to be strong at the same time for her. he just want's her to be alright, and he's not sure if she will. then she kills herself, this line made me cry the first time i heard it "And I could tell it was over From the curtains that hung from your neck" and she was also pregnant, which i think it just kinda that heart rencher at the end if it wasnt bad enough for the love of his life to die, but his own daughter to die as well. and the silence that follows, oh god! amazing song. hands down. |

I can see where other people are coming from. but personally, i think its just about a dysfunctional relationship. they both want different things but they ignored it, yet somehow it works ("your body on my matress is proof") they dont understand each other, and probably never will, but keep up with the relationship. i think the line "you want resizing but darling dear get a grip" means that she wants to be different, perhaps skinnier, but he cant see why she would want to be, because to him, she's perfect. that's just what i got from it |
