Actually it's not about a break up at all, so no need for 'gay rumors.' As with many other Sufjan Stevens songs, this one has to do with a story in the bible, in this case, the story of Jason. Jason lets 'runners' (refugees, Paul and Silas) stay at his house. His house was searched by 'knights' and he was forced to come before the ruler, but when neither Paul or Silas were found, he was released on bail. |
