With the exception of Vampire Money and Summertime, it seems everything else falls into the concept of this post-apocalyptic world with our boys as the Killjoys. |

this song is fabulous. and it's much more true to her rock roots, and it's beautiful. Everyone says that Speechless is proof that she can do a ballad but I think that was already settled when she wrote Again, Again. I relate to this song a retardedly great amount - being with someone, but hooking up with some brown eyed bastard you know is bad for you even if they do understand you better then your boyfriend.

the ALBUM is her saying goodbye to her past lovers, not this specific song. she says that each song is a monster, and this particular one is her "Fear of Sex", as she states in an MTV interview. just look at the lyrics: "I know you may love me / but I just can't be with you like this anymore". it's also her running away from commitment, though that's not explicitly said in that particular interview. |

philipmarc, you're mostly right. in a MTV interview, she says just what you say - her "Fear of Suffocation". but it's not really in a "hey i'm out partying i don't want to work" manner, it's in a relationship sense. especially since Gaga's not a big partier, she's very work-oriented. |

although I agree that the true meaning is about Trent's drug addiction, it could be any kind of addiction to anyone else.
what's funny to me, though, is that for some reason, all the talk in this song about getting hard and coming strong, and teeth, makes me think of someone who's a bit of a masochist getting a blowjob with teeth.
but that's not what it really is, I know.
and damnit, the way trent says "with teeth", if nothing else, adds to the effect of the two words alone. and I agree with PhoenixXx, it'd sound stupid if he just chanted "with teeth" normally over and over. |

The father of a friend of mine used to work with Lisa and I was told (though of course I have no way of knowing if this is true or not), that Lisa wrote this song about Dweezil and how his drug use tore them apart. I would think heroin specifically considering "the powder's in the kitchen, the spoon is on the floor". |
