I once spoke to a guy who thought that Worthing is the place where you're worthy. I still like the poetry in that thought, despite it not being accurate. (and if you are that guy, I miss you, sometimes) |

The lyrics posted here (as of today) are very inaccurate. I tried to post a correction but apparently the rights holder needs to approve them. There is now a version made by Brent Arnold with only cellos and vocals which is immensely beautiful. You can find here: https://soundcloud.com/theantlers-1 |

| I thought it was about the London bombing as well but then I read it was written in 2002 which is slightly before the London bombing, although I think that after all its conclusion is about any act of terrorism, wherever, whenever. | |

Just to add a little bit to what have been said before, the telephones ringing and one of them from someone who new the protagonist, in my opinion, are a reference to all the flyers posted in New York after the towers came down from people looking for their beloved. Also, although this is in essence a mourning song for lost lives it's also an ode to life worth living, a feeling enhanced by the song being so cheerful, and to me this is what makes the song so powerful. And watch the clip, if you haven't already. |
