Ahh i don't look at the religion aspect, i am athiest but the lyrics just don't seem to be relating to religion to me, and songs mean different things to different people. "Cold silence has A tendency to Atrophy any Sense of compassion " This is saying that when you don't speak after a while teh compassion will deteriorate and be gone. I'm going to go with the whole relationship aspect, that two people fit so perfectly together and its starting to fuck up, the people have lost there communication(a important part in relationships) There is more i could say because it is such a beautiful song, but i will leave it at that. |

| Ahhh tool is the greatest band of all time, they are so inspiring. But to me this song speaks so clearly about borderline personality disorder. There are many different aspects to Bpd, but first boredom seems to overcome you, extremely not just because you have nothing to do but because you are never satisfied you can't be. Then it goes on to talking about loving or wanting someone and you just want to know that they care but no matter what you don't belive that they do, its never enough.You start to feel nothing, complete emptiness, numbness although theres still the sadness somewhere there, you get used to it. The pain becomes comfortable a common thing, and noone seems to understand or be there....I suppose i can't reli type that much about it but i am sure of this song meaning. I feel it every day. | |

| To me i feel i can reli relate to this song. I view it as someone feeling very alone in life, and seeing how everyone around them seems to conform to things, and noone seems to understand, or wants to help solve the problems. The person keeps fighting and in the end after feeling so alone they feel as if they would rather just die. The heroin could be a result of the empty feeling, trying to cope with it, but thats just me. | |
