i agree with the beginning comment. i think it's about a relationship that went completely to hell. he didn't take it seriously enough, cause he didn't think much of it but it ended up being the love of his life and now it's too late and it's all messed up. he says: End this now, we've gone too far (the relationship, he rather lose her then hurt her more) Let's take back words that turned to scars (he wants all the fighting and arguing and terrible words they said to be taken back, never said so she won't be hurt **scars could also be him cutting because of the fighting with someone he loves) If I could find a way to turn back time (self explanatory ; if i have to explain that we have bigger problems then HH songs) Have to let you know I'm on your side (he wants her to know yes they fought and yes he may have hurt her but he never meant to. and he wants her to know that they were in it together not against each other.) peace. xo |

i think this song is about cheating. i could be terribly wrong but that's my interpretation on it all. He swears, he keeps her heart on his shoulder But what's on the other side She knows, this might be her last chance to decide it's like saying he tells her, he's completely honest and loves her, and only her 'but what's on the other side' gives a clue that there's another side to him, another girl, and the girl kinda figures it and she needs to decide to leave before she gets hurt. |

Personally I think this song is about a relationship that was forced to end, in this case I think possibly college, where the girl is far away. And they probably assumed to stay friends which is why he would go up to visit her. But he says he doesn't want to because he knows that she's moved on to college life (drinking, partying, one night stands) and doesn't want to see that because he cares about her deeply. Which is also why he also wishes bad upon her: And while you’re licking salt off of each other Just know that I’ll be wishing and throwing some over my shoulder Hoping for sores to form upon your lips So the alcohol burns more with every sip and then it goes on to say don't bother calling because he wants to be over her, and he doesn't need her to call him to make it worse. then his friends help him, it's self explanitory. BTW: when he says salt he doesn't mean skin, he means the salt from the tequilas. |
