I always thought that it was about Sub Pop's pressure on the band. Big cheese - make me --Self explainitory "MAKE ME!" Mike says, "Go [to] the office" -- Mike tells them to go to the guys at Sub Pop, sort it out Mike says, "What'd they say?" --Obviously the first thing you'd ask once you got out. Black is black, shade it back We weren't enemies -- Sub Pop told them to do it the way they heard it, not any different. This makes the band mad, obviously. Sure you are, but what am I? --"Fine then, You're the boss, so am I your monkey?" Big lies - make mine --Chad Channing's takes weren't used for Floyd and Paper Cuts. Mike said "What'd ya say" --Possibly a more impatient Mike saying the same as before. She needs glue, how bout you? -- About A Girl sounded "bad" to the Sub Pop guys. Just my own interpretation... Havn't heard the song in a long time though, just found the studio version on Youtube. |

God dammit people quit fighting about Kurt's aweful death, the fact is that we DO NOT know what happened... LET IT BE. Discuss this in a Nirvana fan forum, not the Song Meanings for Been A Son. Anyway, if you guys even read the "Mr. Moustache" comic strip, Kurt wrote it because his dad wanted him to be more manly and play the manly sports like football. Kurt basically puts himself in another person's point of view, depicting himself as a girl and how he should have been the picture perfect son instead of play guitar and use his artistic abilities. |

As been said already, the lyrics sound like. Congratulations you have won It's a year's subscription of bad puns And a makeshift story of concern better set it off before it burns. This song's pretty easy to listen to also, and I really like it. |
