This is a great song, I'm surprised no one's commented it yet! I believe the lyrics to the third verse should go: It was ha ha this-a-way Ha ha that-a-way Ha ha this-a-way then, oh then. A minor mistake, but still... :] |

tritexxwhore, I love you. :D Yeah, you're exactly right. Seriously, come on. Senses Fail, writing a song about an episode of Lost? Get real. This song is all about suicide - it's not even all that conceptual. "I take the stair to the very top floor...I know my body is ready to fly I start the countdown backwards from ten When I reach one my family name will end." Duh. :] The whole album has a similar thread. All of the songs follow a pattern, like a story. He's lost faith, his girlfriend has left him, he's become an alcoholic and suffers from depression, his shrink isn't helping him at all, and his parents are dead (I think?). By the end of the album, he commits suicide. Simple as that. I would write more, but class just ended. ;D |

I think this song is about much more then teen drama. It's about people who are so superficial, that their only concern is how others see them. They put up a sort of mask - "We keep ourselves a mystery" ; but no matter how hard they try, there are still going to be those little imperfections that make them who they are - "But we provide, provide the clues." As for the part that says "Whatcha got now, gotta gotta give it up" - I think this refers to how no one can really be an individual in today's society anymore. This could basically be rephrased as - 'Whatcha got? Give it up, I want it.' Once someone comes out with something new and individual, it seems like everyone wants a peice. Everyone wants to have the latest things, to wear the latest trends... No one can be an individual, because society will just copy them and therefore take away their individualism. But, yeah. Those are just my thoughts. lol. |

I think its between gay sex or straight sex. >____> I mean, on one hand, I've always suspected something between Gerard and Bert. But on the other hand, I agree with PunkChickMeg and clippedwings - when I first heard the song, I assumed that 'blue' stood for the color on the pregnancy test. But, eh, I don't know. Don't yell at me. One more note : I noticed a lot of people were arguing over weather it was 'in a little while' or 'in a while'. It is, indeed, 'in a while'. I thought it was 'in a little while' until I turned the song up full blast and nearly lost my eardrums in the process. He hangs on to 'smile' for two syllables and it sounds like 'little'. But its really just the second part of 'smile'. (Haven't seen him smi-ile in a while...) I'm not sure if that was already settled or not - I didn't read through all seven pages. XD Anyway, there's my two cents worth. |
