The lyrics are so friggan deep, it's magnificent. The song is simple, slightly mediocre even. But sometimes things can be greatly enhanced when it's lacking something, just like the emotion in Conor's voice in contrast to the simple chords. I simply love how Conor speaks the things that I've so agonizingly realized alone and which I will never get over. |

The drugs preference is pretty sweet because alot of people, me and some of the few friends I have being included, know exactly what he's feeling in this song. God..This song is so easy to relate to for me. It reminds me of how I found a girl a long time ago and she changed my perception..Of alot of things..I tried to get togther with her, but it didn't work out. Through years and more girls, I still thought about her every now and then. How much I liked her, how good thing could've been. And then I found someone who reminded me alot of her..Except she was better. Anyways, enough of my life story. This song's -probably- about Him finding his "perfect girl" And how rare she is, and how cold he seems to others because of his own mental issues showing, and how he doesn't desire to directly reveal them to everyone who cares. He wants that one person to care, and only them. It's so sad... |

o_O This song's meaning is so obvious that it's not funny. "The drunk kids, the Catholics, they're all about the same." ...Yeah. It's sad but true. It shows how people, no matter how different, are pretty much just like each other. It's an ugly fact, the one that he concentrates on. But come on..It's undeniable, none the less. Also.. "They crawl from the oceans To paint in the caves But I’m working all weekend I need to get paid" Is a very strong line, though I didn't think so at first. Imo, this represents creativty is lost once becoming a worker. Like, a factory worker..Not the office kind, the kind that lift all day. They're tired, have no time for anything, because they're too busy working. No time any longer to express the creativity within them. It's sad. I believe it to be true. |

I know that this song isn't really about what I think it is. But I'll tell you all what I think of it. I think this song's about how stupid the ideals of society is. How girls obsess over their looks for boys, how we use unnatural things so often for something that if we couldn't do otherwise, we shouldn't be t rying to do. I also think it's about how everyone's so god-damn sad, and this girl realizes how stupid it is and starts trying to see things as they are, but sees that everything's hidden by the lies of modern people and media anyways. The metaphors just describe how ugly it is that this happens. Sorry for the long comment. I write alot. >__> Anyways, if anyone else sees this or things it's just dumb then..Whatever. |
